April 18th Tigers Weekend Summary

Both the Junior Tigers and the Intermediate Tigers opened their season down at the Lethbridge Icebreaker Tournament and both teams made the IceBreaker Final in their respective division! Great Job Tigers!  The Junior Tigers went 3 - 2, while the Intermediate Tigers also went 3 - 2.

Game 1 - D3 Junior Tigers 14U Defeat Lethbridge Jr. Bulls 14U On Multiple Hit Performance By Matteo Diluzio

Matteo Diluzio collected four hits in four at bats, as D3 Junior Tigers 14U defeated Lethbridge Jr. Bulls 14U 13-9 on Friday at Yoshinaka Field. Diluzio singled in the first inning, singled in the fourth inning, singled in the sixth inning, and singled in the third inning.

 

D3 Junior Tigers 14U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Griffin Hartwell grounded out, Diluzio singled to left field, and Joshua Brooks singled to center field, each scoring one run.

 

D3 Junior Tigers 14U scored seven runs on two hits in the top of the sixth inning. Jaden Stoppler drew a walk, scoring one run, Diluzio singled, scoring one run, Parker Butler was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Chase Brewer drew a walk, scoring one run, Adam Lopushinsky drew a walk, scoring one run, Cohl Hardy singled, scoring one run, and Tyler Ormiston drew a walk, scoring one run.

 

Brooks earned the win for D3 Junior Tigers 14U. The hurler gave up two hits and four runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking four. Eddie Little Shields took the loss for Lethbridge Jr. Bulls 14U. The starter went two innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out one and walking two. Hartwell stepped on the hill first for D3 Junior Tigers 14U. The pitcher surrendered one hit and one run over one inning, striking out two and walking two. Brewer appeared in relief for D3 Junior Tigers 14U.

 

D3 Junior Tigers 14U accumulated 13 hits in the game. Butler, Brooks, and Stoppler each collected multiple hits for D3 Junior Tigers 14U. Jayden Hamilton paced D3 Junior Tigers 14U with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying 11 walks for the game. Diluzio stole two bases. D3 Junior Tigers 14U turned two double plays in the game.

 

Coen Lencucha and Little Shields each drove in two runs for Lethbridge Jr. Bulls 14U. Connor Ash went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lethbridge Jr. Bulls 14U in hits. Declan Donaghy led Lethbridge Jr. Bulls 14U with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Game 2 - D3 Junior Tigers 14U Defeats Cardinals Red 14U In Pitcher's Duel

Both teams were strong on the bump on Saturday, but D3 Junior Tigers 14U defeated Cardinals Red 14U 3-0. Matteo Diluzio started the game for D3 Junior Tigers 14U and recorded 18 outs.

 

Diluzio struck out 16 batters on the day. The hurler also allowed one hit and zero runs over six innings while walking one.

 

D3 Junior Tigers 14U got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Chase Brewer singled to center field, and Adam Lopushinsky doubled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

 

Maddox Deleau began the game for Cardinals Red 14U. The hurler allowed four hits and three runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking two. Jayden Hamilton tossed one inning of shutout ball for D3 Junior Tigers 14U in relief. The pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking one.

 

Lopushinsky and Brewer were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for D3 Junior Tigers 14U. Diluzio, Cohl Hardy, Lopushinsky, Griffin Hartwell, Brewer, and Joshua Brooks each collected one hit for D3 Junior Tigers 14U.

 

Deleau went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Cardinals Red 14U in hits. Tanner Kuzek stole two bases.

 

D3 Junior Tigers 14U will travel to Airdrie Stars 14U for their next game on Saturday.

Game 3 - D3 Junior Tigers 14U Falls To Airdrie Stars 14U

D3 Junior Tigers 14U fell to Airdrie Stars 14U 11-6 on Saturday at Yoshinaka Field.

 

A wild pitch put D3 Junior Tigers 14U on the board in the top of the second.

 

Adam Miller singled down the left field line, which helped Airdrie Stars 14U tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.

 

In the top of the third, D3 Junior Tigers 14U broke up the tie when Matteo Diluzio singled, scoring one run. Then a passed ball followed to extend the lead to 3-1.

 

D3 Junior Tigers 14U committed an error, which helped Airdrie Stars 14U tie the game at three in the bottom of the third.

 

In the bottom of the fourth, Airdrie Stars 14U broke up the tie when Anson Richelhof doubled, scoring two runs. Then a single by Rylan Hanlon followed to extend the lead to 7-3.

 

Jaden Stoppler led things off on the hill for D3 Junior Tigers 14U. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and five runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out six and walking four. Jake Forsyth began the game for Airdrie Stars 14U. The hurler surrendered two hits and three runs (two earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking four.

 

Diluzio, Cohl Hardy, and Tyler Ormiston each drove in one run for D3 Junior Tigers 14U. D3 Junior Tigers 14U had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Jayden Hamilton and Joshua Brooks led the team with two free passes each. D3 Junior Tigers 14U turned one double play in the game.

 

Richelhof led Airdrie Stars 14U with three runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Kaleb Skinner set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Airdrie Stars 14U with two hits in two at bats. Forsyth paced Airdrie Stars 14U with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Carter Arsenault and Skinner each stole multiple bases for Airdrie Stars 14U. Game 4 - Jaden Stoppler With 3 Hits As D3 Junior Tigers 14U Beat Lethbridge Jr. Bulls 14U

Jaden Stoppler collected three hits in four at bats, as D3 Junior Tigers 14U defeated Lethbridge Jr. Bulls 14U 13-7 on Sunday at Yoshinaka Field. Stoppler singled in the fifth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the second inning.

 

D3 Junior Tigers 14U won thanks in part to eight runs in the fifth inning.  Parker Butler grounded out, scoring one run, Adam Lopushinsky was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Cohl Hardy doubled, scoring one run, Stoppler singled, scoring one run, a wild pitch scored three runs, and Butler singled, scoring one run.

 

Lethbridge Jr. Bulls 14U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Connor Ash walked, and Colby Misura hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

 

D3 Junior Tigers 14U captured the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the first when Matteo Diluzio singled, scoring one run, a wild pitch scored one run, and Lopushinsky singled, scoring two runs.

 

D3 Junior Tigers 14U added one run in the second after Diluzio singled .

 

In the top of the third inning, Lethbridge Jr. Bulls 14U went back into the lead after Milo O'Dooley tripled to center field, Jake Baldock hit a sacrifice fly, and Jhett Stober singled to center field, each scoring one run.

 

Griffin Hartwell pitched three innings in relief for D3 Junior Tigers 14U. The pitcher surrendered six hits and three runs while, striking out five and walking none. Jayden Hamilton started on the mound for D3 Junior Tigers 14U. The hurler gave up zero hits and four runs (three earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking seven. Baldock started the game for Lethbridge Jr. Bulls 14U. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and five runs over four innings, striking out four and walking three.

 

D3 Junior Tigers 14U piled up 11 hits in the game. Butler, Diluzio, Lopushinsky, and Hartwell each drove in two runs for D3 Junior Tigers 14U. Hardy collected two hits for D3 Junior Tigers 14U in three at bats. Joshua Brooks led D3 Junior Tigers 14U with three walks. Game 5 - TOURNAMENT FINAL - D3 Junior Tigers 14U Fall After Strong Showing By Okotoks Dawgs 15U

D3 Junior Tigers 14U had trouble keeping up with Okotoks Dawgs 15U in a 14-4 loss on Sunday at Yoshinaka Field.

 

Okotoks Dawgs 15U opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to three singles. Okotoks Dawgs 15U first got on the board when Caleb Nunweiler singled, scoring two runs.

 

Okotoks Dawgs 15U scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Nunweiler singled, scoring two runs, Peter McFarlane tripled, scoring one run, McFarlane scored after tagging up, Joshua Luimes singled, scoring one run, and Fisher Dion singled, scoring one run.

 

JJ Miller earned the win for Okotoks Dawgs 15U. The starter surrendered 10 hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking none. Chase Brewer took the loss for D3 Junior Tigers 14U. The pitcher went two and one-third innings, surrendering eight runs on six hits, striking out three and walking three.

 

D3 Junior Tigers 14U amassed 10 hits in the game. Cohl Hardy led D3 Junior Tigers 14U with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Griffin Hartwell went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead D3 Junior Tigers 14U in hits.

 

Okotoks Dawgs 15U amassed 13 hits in the game. Nunweiler led Okotoks Dawgs 15U with three hits in three at bats. Luimes and Nunweiler each drove in two runs for Okotoks Dawgs 15U. Game 1 - District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U Fall To Medicine Hat Junior Mavs Despite Strong Effort From Asher I

Asher I collected three hits in three at bats, but District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U lost to Medicine Hat Junior Mavs 12-9 on Friday. Asher singled in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

 

A single by Asher put District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U on the board in the top of the first.

 

Medicine Hat Junior Mavs flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 5-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by D B on a full count that drove in two.

 

A double by X R extended the Medicine Hat Junior Mavs lead to 6-3 in the bottom of the second inning.

 

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U made the score 7-6 in the top of the third after Wallace K doubled, scoring one run, Asher doubled, scoring two runs, and Lucus C singled, scoring one run.

 

Medicine Hat Junior Mavs captured the lead, 9-7, in the bottom of the third after D S doubled to left field, B M grounded out, and W C doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

 

D earned the win for Medicine Hat Junior Mavs. The hurler allowed eight hits and seven runs over two and one-third innings, striking out three and walking one. Xavier J stepped on the mound first for District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and five runs (three earned) over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking none.

 

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U amassed 12 hits in the game. Xavier and Quinlan O each collected multiple hits for District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U. Wallace and Lincoln Y each stole multiple bases for District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U. District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U ran wild on the base paths, collecting eight stolen bases for the game.

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U scored seven runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. Quinlan O singled, scoring one run, Robert M induced Brayden F to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Drew A grounded out, scoring one run, Lincoln Y doubled, scoring two runs, and Wallace singled, scoring two runs.

 

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U added two runs in the third after Austin B grounded into a fielder's choice.

 

Cranbrook Bandits 13U scored six runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning. Robert doubled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Mathew C grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and an error scored one run.

Robert took the loss for Cranbrook Bandits 13U. The hurler went two innings, surrendering eight runs (seven earned) on four hits, striking out one and walking five. Hunter S and Lincoln each appeared in relief for District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U.

 

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U collected 12 hits in the game. Austin went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Asher collected two hits for District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U in two at bats. District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 11 walks for the game. Booker C drove in four runs on two hits to lead District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U past 13U AAA Calgary Cubs 13U 22-7 on Sunday. Booker doubled in the third inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the second inning, scoring two.

 

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Drew A singled up the middle, Austin B singled to left field, Lucus C grounded out, and Quinlan O grounded out, each scoring one run.

 

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U scored nine runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. Drew doubled, scoring two runs, Hunter S singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Booker singled, scoring two runs, Lincoln Y drew a walk, scoring one run, and Xavier J was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

 

13U AAA Calgary Cubs 13U scored seven runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. Jacob C doubled, scoring one run, Matthew Javier R drew a walk, scoring one run, Zachary D singled, scoring one run, Luka A drew a walk, scoring one run, and Aiden C tripled, scoring three runs.

 

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U scored nine runs on four hits in the top of the third inning. Quinn B induced Hunter to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Lucus drew a walk, scoring one run, Booker doubled, scoring three runs, Wallace K doubled, scoring one run, a dropped third strike scored one run, and Maddox W doubled, scoring two runs.

 

Austin stepped on the hill first for District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U. The hurler surrendered four hits and seven runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking three. Matthew Javier stepped on the hill first for 13U AAA Calgary Cubs 13U. The starter allowed seven hits and eight runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two. Brayden F tossed one and one-third innings of zero-run ball for District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U in relief. The reliever gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking one.

 

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U tallied 13 hits in the game. Hunter, Drew, Wallace, Booker, and Lincoln each collected two hits for District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U. District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 11 walks for the game. Austin, Brayden, and Quinlan led the team with two free passes each. Lincoln stole two bases. Game 5 - TOURNAMENT FINAL - District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U Make A Run Against YQL Sluggers 13U AAA But Fall Short

Despite a 7-run deficit in the third inning, District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U almost came all the way back, eventually falling 15-14 to YQL Sluggers 13U AAA on Sunday. District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U closed the gap by scoring on a single, a fielder's choice, a double, a single, a single, and a single.

 

Despite the loss, District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U did collect nine hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, YQL Sluggers 13U AAA had 10 hits on the way to victory.

 

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U were the first to get on the board in the first when Asher I drew a walk, scoring one run.

 

YQL Sluggers 13U AAA took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Tucker T singled to left field, Deacon B singled down the left field line, and Cohen K doubled down the right field line, each scoring two runs.

 

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a single by Lincoln Y, a triple by Wallace K, and a ground out by Asher.

 

YQL Sluggers 13U AAA flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring seven runs on five hits to take the lead, 13-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Colin F that drove in one.

 

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring eight runs on six hits to take the lead, 14-13. The biggest blow in the inning was a fielder's choice by Hunter S that drove in two.

 

Tucker tripled to right field on the sixth pitch of the at-bat, which helped YQL Sluggers 13U AAA tie the game at 14 in the bottom of the fourth.

 

Drew A began the game for District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U. The starter surrendered four hits and six runs over one inning, striking out none and walking three. Colin began the game for YQL Sluggers 13U AAA. The hurler gave up one hit and three runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking three.

 

Wallace and Lincoln each collected two hits for District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U. Hunter and Lincoln each drove in three runs for District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U. District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Maddox W and Austin B led the team with two bases on balls each. Maddox and Wallace each stole multiple bases for District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U. District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U stole six bases in the game.

 

YQL Sluggers 13U AAA piled up 10 hits in the game. Tucker went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead YQL Sluggers 13U AAA in hits. Cohen, Deacon, and Tucker each drove in three runs for YQL Sluggers 13U AAA. YQL Sluggers 13U AAA had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Drew T, Ryder N, and Cruise C led the team with two free passes each. Nolan T stole two bases.

 

District 3 Tigers Intermediate 13U will travel to District 8 Knights 13U for their next game on Saturday.
