It is with great honor and deep appreciation that we celebrate the illustrious career of Garth Nolan within the River East Minor Hockey Association. After decades of dedicated service and unparalleled commitment, Garth has decided to retire from his role within our organization.
Garth's journey with REMHA has been nothing short of extraordinary. From his early days as Vice President of AA in '92 and '93 to his tenure as President from '98 to 2001, his leadership has been the cornerstone of our association's success. Over the years, Garth has worn many hats, serving as President six times and as Past President on eight occasions. His dedication and unwavering commitment have left an indelible mark on REMHA's legacy.
Beyond REMHA, Garth's influence extended far and wide. As the Gateway Hockey Director from 1995 to 1997 and his pivotal role as President of Hockey Winnipeg, Garth's impact on the wider hockey community cannot be overstated. His leadership, vision, and tireless efforts have helped shape the landscape of amateur hockey in our region for the better.
It is fitting that Garth's remarkable contributions have been recognized with prestigious accolades, including the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal for Volunteerism in 2012 and his induction as a Life Member of Hockey Winnipeg in 2017. These honors are a testament to Garth's selfless dedication and passion for the sport and the community.
