WOODSTOCK, ON. Woodstock Minor Ball Association (WMBA) is announcing an important change to its competitive baseball pathway starting in the 2027 season.

Following a review of the association’s competitive baseball programming over the last 5 years, the WMBA Board of Directors has made the decision effective for the 2027 season, to not field a second Rep team within the Inter-County Baseball Association (ICBA). WMBA intends to offer a Dedicated Select program alongside its Rep and House League programs.

The decision creates a clear and sustainable development pathway for Woodstock players while continuing to provide opportunities for athletes who are looking for a competitive baseball experience beyond our growing House League program. 

This change is about creating the strongest possible development pathway for our players while making sure families continue to have options.  Dedicated Select allows us to develop competitive baseball players within Woodstock, providing options for players to participate in both House League and Select or Select only, while our release process ensures players who want to continue to pursue immediate Rep opportunities elsewhere can do so.

Additional details regarding the 2027 Wranglers Select program, including team formation, coaches, schedules, eligibility and program expectations, will be communicated as they are finalized.

What this means:

Players interested in Rep baseball must register for and attend Woodstock Wranglers Rep tryouts as usual.

Players who are not selected for a Rep roster will be provided a release upon request, should they wish to pursue a Rep opportunity with another association.

What has changed:

WMBA had previously offered a second Rep team at 13U, 11U & 9U.  This meant there was a second team tryout if players were cut from 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U age groups.
