The excitement has been building for months. The anticipation has bubbled to the top. It is finally time to reveal the all important, forever anticipated and epically requested 2023 TYSA Junior Division baseball schedule!
The 2023 season will start off as all TYSA Junior Division seasons start, with a rematch of our two championship participants from the previous year. This year Firefighters will host the Tiffin Eagles on Opening Night, Monday June 5. Our Opening Night, Part 2 will come on Tuesday June 6 and feature Bair Brothers hosting the Tiffin Moose. Both nights are going to be grand events, showcasing all four of our teams this year and providing excitment for not just the players but hopefully for the fans as well.
Some other things to note on the 2023 schedule:
All games are being played at our new field, the Bo Reid Field at Highland Park in Tiffin. Games are scheduled to start at 5:30 PM, with the hope that this is giving our fans and family member enough time to get to the games after work while also providing us enough time to play the games before we have to deal with any darkness issues.
Games will adhere to a 2 hour and 15 minute time limit, with no new inning starting after 8 PM. With this time limit enacted, the hope from the league is that we can keep our games moving along by getting teams on and off the field each inning in a timely manner, as well as some other things behind the scenes to try and pick up the pace a little bit more.
There will be NO game on Tuesday July 4th.
All make up games will be played on Friday's, hopefully a week later to give both teams time to prepare and ensure players and families have enough time to prepare. Also the week of July 17th will feature our last regular season game, and will be able to be utilized for make up games as well.
The Championship series will once again be a 2 out of 3 game series with the first game on Monday July 24 and then games 2 and 3 on Wednesday July 26 and 27. On Tuesday July 25 we will have the teams in 3rd and 4th play for their final game of the season.
Finally, this year's All Star Extravaganza, the epically anticipated event that closed out our season will be Saturday August 5th. Once again it will include our Awards Ceremony, full catering and then a massively enjoyable All-Star game that will include any and all players interested in participating.
All teams will play a 12-game season, with 2 games a week (not including the week of July 4 for two teams).
