2026-2027 season information

Information re: U9 Evaluations-October 3rd & 4th
Please read this email in its entirety to ensure that you have all the information before arriving at the rink this weekend.
Volunteers will be needed to run the benches and set up boards. Please reach out to me via email if you are able to help run the benches.
Time Trials-ALL PLAYERS TO ATTEND:
October 3: 9:15-9:45 Group 1-Last name A-L
9:45-10:30 Group 2-Last name M-Z
**If your player does not want to try out for U9A, then please come speak to me immediately following your time trial. Your player still has to complete time trials and they will then play in the U9B games on Sunday.**
-Following time trials, teams will then be assigned and posted as soon as possible. Only the top 24 (approximately) players will play in the next two scrimmages below:
October 3rd:
1145-1245-U9A scrimmage #1(TOP 24 ONLY)
2:15-3:15-U9A scrimmage #2 (TOP 24 ONLY-team selection)
**Please note, the U9A team will be announced in the evening of October 3rd. Head coach is Adam Tuffs.
If your skater did not make the U9A team, they will need to attend the U9B scrimmages on October 4th.**

U9B scrimmages:
-Teams will be assigned upon your arrival to the rink.
-The U9B teams will be split as evenly as possible, based on time trial results the day before. Coaches and coordinators will assess teams with the goal of splitting the teams as even as possible. **changes to teams may occur between and after the scrimmages**
-Parent volunteers will be needed to set up and take down the half-ice boards. Please head out to assist before and after the scheduled skate times.
October 4th:

U9A will be evaluated by Hockey Sask. We encourage all players to attend time trials. From time trials select approximately the top 24 to appear in the U9A scrimmages.
For the other U9 teams. Coordinator and coaches select teams. Teams split evenly. Use U9A rankings to start drafting players, taking into account geography when splitting teams. Have teams play and readjust rosters as necessary.
