Below is the process, set out in HRI Regulation 8.13 in the case of adverse weather conditions that may prevent travel.
8.13 In the case of adverse weather conditions that may prevent teams traveling to practices, games, tournaments, or other HRI events, the safety of the players is the primary concern. Teams are expected to make every effort to play scheduled league games, where possible, considering member and player safety. HRI recommends contacting/reviewing the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline to determine if weather warnings are in effect. If travel is not recommended or roads are closed within a timeframe where a team would reasonably travel to or home from the game, the following process is to be used:
a) If weather warnings are in effect the traveling Team Officials are to decide if the game is to be cancelled.
b) If a game is to be cancelled the Team Officials are to contact the HRI Scheduler to advise of the team's decision not to travel and that game cancellation is required. The canceling Team Officials are to contact the other team's Head Coach to advise of the game cancellation. The HRI Scheduler will advise the required HRI staff, contractors and/or Directors.
c) If the game is outside Regina, it is the responsibility of the Associate Member team to make cancellation arrangements with the referees/timekeepers.
d) If the game is outside Regina, both team’s Head Coaches are to agree on a rescheduled game and the home team is to complete a game change by contacting the HRI Scheduler. e) If the game cannot be rescheduled in a reasonable time frame, the game will be recorded as a 0-0 tie.
