Alliance Softball

Alliance Softball is the All-Star division of Greater Whiteland Girls Softball League (GWGSL), created for players ready to take their game to the next level. Built on the same values that define our league—teamwork, community, and player development—Alliance provides a more competitive softball experience for girls ages 8U through 14U.

Our Alliance teams are designed for players who want to challenge themselves against stronger competition, receive more focused coaching, and continue growing their skills beyond the rec season. Alliance teams practice year-round, compete in local tournaments, and focus on developing both softball fundamentals and strong character.

If your daughter loves softball and is ready for a new challenge, Alliance could be the perfect fit. We’re not just about winning games—we’re about building confident, prepared, and well-rounded athletes.

What does the games for Alliance look like?
Alliance games are played on Sundays at either 12:00 pm, 1:30 pm, or 3:00 pm in and around the Indianapolis area. We do try to host a weekend or two to allow the girls to play at their facility, but it's dependent on volunteers.

What division should my daughter play for the 2026 season?
The 2026 Alliance season begins on September 1, 2025. Girls are permitted to play up in a division (e.g., a 10U player can play in 12U) but are not allowed to play down in a division. The question to ask yourself is, "How old is my daughter on 9/1/25?" If you have questions about which division is appropriate, please contact us at info@gwgsl.org or view the chart below for a reference.

Is my daughter required to play in Fall or Spring rec ball?
No, your daughter is not required to play in Fall or Spring recreational softball. However, the cost for Spring recreational league registration is included in the Alliance fees. If your daughter does not register for the Spring recreational league, you will not be eligible to receive a refund for that portion of the fees.

What are the Alliance rules?
We primarily follow Indy Alliance rules when playing in Alliance doubleheader games. You can find the full rules linked here. While we strive for consistency, Greater Whiteland Girls Softball League (GWGSL) rules may differ in other contexts. If a team is playing in an All-Star tournament, the rules of that specific tournament will apply.
