Flag football on the east side of Puerto Rico — open to every player, built from the ground up, run entirely by people who love the game.
The East Puerto Rico Flag Football League is a non-profit organization led and run entirely by volunteers. Every coach on the sideline, every person setting up the field, every organizer sending out the schedules — nobody is getting paid. This league exists because people believe in it enough to give their time to it. That's what makes your support matter so much. You're not funding a business. You're keeping a community effort alive.
There are no tryouts. No invite-only rosters. No skill requirements. We don't care if you've never touched a football or if you've been playing for years. This league was designed specifically so that none of that is a barrier. The east side of Puerto Rico has talent that hasn't had a real place to develop — and we're here to change that.
The goal was never to find the five best athletes in the region and put them on one team. That's easy. What's harder — and more meaningful — is building something where every kid who shows up gets real coaching, real reps, and a real shot at getting better.
We teach the fundamentals. Routes, footwork, reads, communication — the things that make a player, not just an athlete. Because when you develop players the right way, the wins take care of themselves. And more importantly, the kids stay in the sport. They come back next season. They bring their friends. The league grows.
No skill requirements, no school restrictions, no previous experience needed. Show up and you belong here.
We focus on fundamentals first. The goal is players who understand the game — not just kids who run fast.
From local leagues to island-wide tournaments to international competition — we're building flag football in Puerto Rico from the ground up.
Puerto Rico has always had the athletes. What it needed was the infrastructure — leagues that run consistently, tournaments that attract outside competition, and programs that develop players from youth all the way through adult divisions. That's what we've been quietly building in the eastern municipalities for years now, one Friday night game at a time.
Teams from Humacao, Ceiba, Las Piedras, Luquillo, Juncos, Caguas and beyond compete in our league. Our travel teams have gone to Las Vegas to represent the island. And now we're hosting our own international tournaments here at home, inviting teams from the mainland and other countries to come see what east Puerto Rico can do.
None of that happens without the foundation — the open, welcoming, development-first environment we've built locally. That's the mission. Everything else grows from there.
If you want to get involved — as a coach, a referee, an organizer, or just someone willing to help set up on game night — we want to hear from you. The more people who invest in this, the stronger it gets.
