U13 - 2013, 2014

U13 hockey continues with the formation of tiered teams that play city wide. 

The players will vary from beginner players to those that have more experienced.

We plan to have 9-11 teams at the U13 level for 2025-2026.

We offer 3 Streams of Programs - Community Stream, Development Stream, and Competitive Stream.

U13 - All Streams

  • A child can register in U13 even if they have not participated in U7 Discovery, U7 JR Timbits, U7 SR Timbits, U9, or U11 hockey.
  • For the 2025-26 season those born in 2013 and 2014 are designated to to U13 program.
  • Tiered teams of 14 to 18 players are formed after an evaluation process that occurs over 2 or more skates during the month of September.
  • Players wanting to try out for U13 AAA or U13 AA would tryout with South Side Athletic Club, KC Athletic Club, Maple Leaf Athletic Club, or Canadian Athletic Club, depending on their residence. They would return to Confederation Hockey if not selected for one of Athletic Club teams. Players can register for both the Athletic Club and Confed Hockey and would be refunded by Confed if they made a sanctioned U13 AAA or U13 AA team.
  • The purpose of tiering is to have similarly skilled players on each team that are also playing against similarly skilled players from other clubs throughout the Hockey Edmonton program.
  • Games will be held throughout the city.
  • Locations of practices vary, but will mainly be on rinks throughout the south side of Edmonton.
  • Games and practices will be held on both weekday evenings and weekends.
  • Games will be played with referees and scores are kept.
  • There are regular goalies that have evaluated as goalies on most teams. There may also be player/goalies that have evaluated at both positions on teams.
  • The season is from September to March.
  • Ice times will mostly be on weekends, but there will be weekday evening and weekends as well.
  • All player receive a practice jersey and game socks to keep.
  • All players receive a Confed Hockey apparel item.

U13 - Community Stream

  • Cost of the program is $1140.00. Save $100 Early Bird until June 15 - pay $1040!
  • Fees can be paid in Full or up to 4 Payments. The number of payments available will depend on when registration is received.
  • For U13 - Community, the following will be provided:
    • 20 games
    • 24 team practices
    • 2 Team Building/off-ice sessions.
    • 4 Goalie Development Sessions for registered goalies
    • 1 tournament (Confed Hockey Christmas Tournament)

U13 - Development Stream

  • Cost of the program is $1440.00. Save $100 Early Bird until June 15 - pay $1340!
  • Fees can be paid in Full or up to 4 Payments. The number of payments available will depend on when registration is received.
  • If the player cannot be placed in Development Stream during team formation in September, the fee paid for the difference between Community and Development will be refunded.
  • For U13 - Development, the following will be provided:
    • 20 Games
    • 32 team practices
    • 2 Team Building/off-ice sessions
    • 8 Goalie Development Sessions for registered goalies
    • 2 Tournaments (Confed Hockey Christmas Tournament and one other secured by team).

U13 - Competitive Stream

  • Competitive Stream is by invitation only based on the results of evaluations.
  • Tier 1 - Cost of the program is $1990.00. Save $100 Early Bird until June 15 - pay $1890!
  • Tier 2 - Cost of the program is $1890.00. Save $100 Early Bird until June 15 - pay $1790!
  • Fees can be paid in Full or up to 4 Payments. The number of payments available will depend on when registration is received.
  • For those in the Competitive program, the additional Stream fees for the Competitive program will be charged in September after team placement.
  • For U13 - Competitive, the following will be provided:
    • 24 games (Tier 1)
    • 20 games (Tier 2)
    • 45 practices
    • 2 Team Building/off-ice sessions
    • 12 Goalie Development Sessions for registered goalies
    • 3 Tournaments (Confed Hockey Christmas Tournament and two other secured by team).
