I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday and new year with your families and got to enjoy the snow in your communities. As we start back up our basketball season this week, with an eye on games this weekend, we have made the decision to push the beginning of games back one week to start the weekend of January 14/15th. There were a number of factors that played into the decision, including weather related school closures/facility rental cancellations.  Due to the lingering snow/ice in Monroe, Duvall, and other outlying communities, many teams were not/will not be able to practice this week. Coming out of an extended break, we felt it fair allow everyone a chance to have at least one practice before games start.

With this in mind, the games scheduled for this weekend will now be played the weekend of March 4/5th and everyone will still have the full allotment of games on your schedule. An update to the online schedule will be active today showing the change. I understand many kids were excited to play their first games this weekend, but to be fair to all kids/teams, we felt this was the correct decision to make.

A reminder that current County mandates state that all individuals entering the facility for practices and games need to be wearing a mask at all times. Players, coaches and referees may take them off when they are actively participating in the games. But as this is spreading, we would highly recommend all coaches to keep a mask on during games to help prevent the spread and to prevent you from coming in close contact of anyone who may have symptoms. If you or your child begin to have symptoms, test positive or have had an exposure to someone with COVID, please let us know right away so we can make sure to notify the County and proceed with required current protocols.
