2025 SQUAD Descriptions
Kindergarten Squad
This is a "sideline only" team. The program entails a weekly comittment for 1.5 hrs on Sundays. The first 45 minutes will be a practice where the girls will learn cheers and practice basic stunting and tumbling. The girls will cheer at a flag football game for the remaining 45 minutes. Season will run on Sundays from September 7 - October 19.
8U MightyWarrior Squad: Grades 1/2
This is an exhibition team (non-competitive). They will practice for 1.5 hrs on a weeknight (day TBD based on parent poll) and 2 hrs on a Saturday. They will perform their competition routine at the EMASS Local competition as an exhibtion team (non-competitive, all squads are awarded). Season will run from August 18 - October 19.
10U Jr. Warrior Squad: Grades 3/4/5
This is a Level 1 competition team but they will not be nationally tracked. They will practice 2 hrs each night on 2 weeknights (likely Mon/Wed 5:45-7:45 PM) and 2 hrs on a Saturday (likely 4-6 PM). They will perform at 2-3 competitions-- the EMASS Local competition and 2 additional competitions in Boston and surrounding areas. Season will run from August 18 - November 8.
12U Warrior Squad: Grades 6/7
This is a Level 2 competition team that will be nationally tracked. They will practice 2 hrs each night on 2 weeknights (likely Tue/Thur 6-8 PM) and 2 hrs on a Saturday (likely 12-2 PM or 2-4 PM). For nationally tracked teams, there are 4 competitions total: EMASS Local >> MA State >> NE Regional (CT this year) >> National (in FL). Squads need to place in the top 3 at each competition in order to qualify for the next competition. Should this squad not place in the top 3 at the EMASS Local Competiton, they will compete at additional non-advancing competitions in Boston and surrounding areas. Season will run from August 11 - Nov/early Dec pending placement at competitions.
Time Commitment/Expectations
Squads practice 2-3 times per week depending on their age group (see above for details). Squads also cheer for football games on Sundays. Attendance is crucial to the success of any team. Therefore, athletes will be granted no more than 2 unexcused absences at practices throughout the season. We realize there may be extenuating circumstances, which will be handled on an as needed basis. Cheerleaders must attend at least 50% of football games in order to be eligible to compete.
