Twin City Tigers Tackle Information

Welcome to the 2026 Twin City Tigers Tackle Football season! We are excited to get back on the field and continue building a strong, competitive, and positive football experience for our athletes and families. Please review the information below for registration cost, equipment, practice details, game information, and important season dates.

Cost

Tackle Football: $125
Grades: 3rd–8th Grade

If you need financial assistance, please send us an email at twincitytigersyouthfootball@gmail.com.

Players are responsible for providing their own cleats and practice jersey.

Twin City Tigers provides:

  • Game jersey

  • Shoulder pads

  • Helmet

  • Padded pants

  • Mouthpiece

Some players choose to purchase a padded shirt and/or their own mouthpiece.


2026 Tackle Levels

Our goal is to have five tackle levels again for the 2026 season. Teams will be announced in July based on registration numbers.

  • Bantams: 3rd/4th Grade

  • Juniors: 4th/5th Grade

  • Rookies: 6th Grade

  • JV: 7th Grade

  • Varsity: 8th Grade

A few players may be asked to move up depending on registration numbers.


League Information

Twin City Tigers is part of the Bloomington Area Football League (BAFL).

Teams in the league include:

  • Rochester Rockets


Tackle Practice Information

First Practice: Monday, July 27, 2026
Practice Days Before First Game: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Practice Days After First Game: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Last Practice: October 8, 2026
Time: 5:30–7:30 PM
Location: One Normal Plaza, Normal
Field locations for each team will be shared.

Players should bring:

  • Water bottle

  • Cleats

  • Helmet — provided

  • Mouthpiece — provided

  • Shoulder pads — provided

  • Padded pants - game pants provided but can purchase separate practice pants

  • Practice jersey

Coaches will let players know when they need to come in full pads with padded pants.

Practice times will end earlier as the season progresses due to darkness.


Game Information

Tackle teams will have eight games. Most games are on Saturday, but there is a possibility of 1–2 Sunday games.

There will be 2–3 out-of-town games.

Approximate Game Times

  • Bantams: 10:00 AM*

  • Juniors: 11:30 AM

  • Rookies: 1:00 PM

  • JV: 2:30 PM

  • Varsity: 4:00 PM

*Games may start at 11:00 AM depending on the opponent.

Location: Normal Community Activity Center

We will have free used cleats available in various sizes at equipment pickup. If you are not able to make equipment pickup, players will be fitted the first week of practice

First Tackle Practice

Date: Monday, July 27, 2026
Time: 5:30–7:30 PM
Location: One Normal Plaza, Normal

Parent Meeting

The parent meeting will be held during the first week of practice.

More details will be shared closer to the start of the season.

Tackle players must wear game pants. Jerseys will be handed out for pictures.

First Game

Date: Saturday, August 15, 2026

Flag football will start at approximately 9:00 AM, followed by Bantams, Juniors, Rookies, JV, and Varsity.

Games last longer as the levels get higher, typically 60–90 minutes each.

Players should arrive one hour prior to game time or as instructed by their coach.
