Trails WEst Cup
The Trails West Cup (TWC) is our association’s flagship tournament series and a long-standing tradition of community hockey in Calgary. Originally launched in 2012 as the Canaccord Cup, the event became officially known as the Trails West Cup around the 2016–17 season. In its early years, the tournament featured only a few divisions: U11 Division 1, U15 Division 1, U18 Division 1 and Division 2
The TW Cup steadily expanded over the years. By the 2021–22 season, all U18 teams were participating, marking a major step for our association. Since then we have been adding in more tournaments each year. In 2023–24, the Trails West Cup began rotating tournaments through all divisions to provide broader opportunities. This change also introduced a lottery system for U9 teams, allowing them to apply for one or two tournament spots each season—an important step toward fostering development and inclusion at the youngest age groups. Today, the Trails West Cup spans multiple age groups and divisions, showcasing high-caliber, checking & non-body-checking hockey while emphasizing sportsmanship, fun, and community spirit. The TW Cup provides an opportunity for teams to host, fundraise, and build lasting connections with teams from across Alberta and beyond.
