Monday Ski and Snowboard Programs
The Monday Program is designed to be a developmental ski and snowboard program. It is for athletes who are focused on progressing in their sport, getting outside, and having fun! They are enthusiastic skiers and riders who want to develop freestyle and all-mountain skills while enjoying the camaraderie of a team.
Our coaches will teach fundamental skills that every aspiring young snow sports enthusiast must learn in a safe environment. Practices will include a combination of free skiing, technical drills, the terrain parks, and gate training. This program will be a fun, high quality learning experience, with knowledgeable and skilled staff who are excited to share their passion for the sport.
The Monday Programs include 10 days of instruction starting on Dec 16th 2024. There will not be a session on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. Each session will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and finish at 3:00 p.m. Please have your skier / snowboarder at the new team pickup/drop-off area outside of the Village Haus by 8:45 a.m. so they are ready to go by 9:00 a.m. Afternoon pickup will be at the team pickup/drop-off area outside the Village Haus . Registration fees include the entry fees for any Team Angel Fire Fun Races. Participants will be separated into small groups and assigned a coach based on age, skill level, interests, etc. to provide individual attention to each athlete.
Participants in the Monday groups may be interested in competing at a local level, but they’re not looking to travel for races or pursue high-level competition.
If you’re looking for a program with a higher level of commitment, check out our Alpine Race Team.
Alpine Ski Race Team
The Team Angel Fire Alpine Ski Race Team is designed for advanced-intermediate to advanced level skiers and focuses on the ski racing disciplines of Slalom and Giant Slalom. This program features our most experienced coaching staff and is led by former FIS racer and member of Japan's National Ski Team, Jin Yoshida. The coaches are dedicated to providing exceptional coaching to every athlete focusing on skills development and competition readiness.
Alpine training forms the foundation of all-around skiing skills that allow our young Team Angel Fire athletes to be able to ski all-mountain and, in all conditions, for a lifetime. Race Team athletes are expected to possess a level of maturity and mountain awareness that allows them to navigate the mountain without 100% supervision from the coaching staff.
A USSA licensed professional coach will work with the athletes to further skill development and introduce gate training. The Race Team focuses on the fundamentals and skills necessary for high-performance skiing while helping athletes understand and display sportsmanship, teamwork, and mountain etiquette. Participants are required to help set the gates in the morning and to remove them each afternoon.
The Race Team has 26 days of professional ski instruction including coaching for 2 weekends at out-of-town races. Practice is every Saturday and Sunday beginning December 14th 2024 from 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will not be sessions on December 28-29. Registration fees include the costs of any Team Angel Fire Fun Races, coach lift tickets for out of town events, and any fees associated with utilizing the NASTAR race course on Saturdays. Additional costs associated with coach travel, transportation, lodging and meals are not included in the fees and are the responsibility of the race team participants.
