Program Philosophy
The Venom Selects program is designed to bridge the gap between recreational house league play and elite competition. We recognize that development needs consistency, but high-performance athletes often have chaotic spring schedules.
Our Solution: A hybrid "Academy-First" model. Players subscribe to the Development Program (guaranteed value) and then opt in to Competitions (variable opportunity).
1. The Base: "Selects Academy"
Every player who registers is part of the Academy. This is the guaranteed value provided in exchange for the registration fee.
- Extra Surface Time: Dedicated high-performance training slots.
- Advanced Coaching: Led by High-Performance coaches.
- Selects Identity: Exclusive "Venom Selects" kit (jersey and pants).
- Flexibility: Attendance is encouraged but not punitive.
2. The Competition Layer: Tournament Rosters
Competitions are treated as "Add-On" events. Academy membership gives you the right to vie for a spot.
- 1–3 Regional Tournaments (timing TBD).
- Marquee Event: AMRHA Provincials (Hosted in Lethbridge in 2026).
- Scenario A: High demand leads to focused evaluations.
- Scenario B: Moderate demand allows for open rostering.
- Scenario C: Significant interest leads to multiple team expansion.
The Cost Structure
Base Program Fee
Covers surface rental, insurance, coaching stipends, and gear.
Paid Upfront
Tournament Fee
Covers specific tournament entry and coach travel expenses.
Paid ONLY by players attending the event.
