U12 Learn to Fence (Beginner Kids Group) |
For children new to fencing (under the age of 12, minimum age 7) Wednesdays 6-7 pm at Sutherland Hall Cost: $150 for 8-week session Starts: January 4, 2023 No equipment purchase is necessary at this level |
U17 Beginner Youth Group |
For children and youth ages 12-17 years Wednesdays 7-8 pm at Sutherland Hall U17 fencers are welcome to stay after class for electric fencing until 9 pm Cost: $150 for 8-week session Starts: January 4, 2023 No equipment purchase is necessary at this level |
Adult Beginner Group |
For adults 18 years of age or older who are new to fencing Adult Beginner Fencers can choose which evening they will fence: · Mondays 7:15- 8:15 pm at the Saskatoon Field House or · Wednesdays 7:00-8:00 pm at the Sutherland Hall or · Fridays 7:00-8:00 pm at the Saskatoon Field House Adult beginner fencers are welcome to stay for electric fencing until 9 pm Start dates: Mondays- January 9, Wednesdays- January 4, Fridays- January 6 Cost: $150 (including PST) for 8-week session U of S Student discount: $115 (including PST) for 8-week session No equipment purchase is necessary at this level Note: this class is mixed with the adults and teenagers of the Regular (Open) fencing class which runs concurrently |
Intermediate Fencing Group |
Instructed class for youth and adults who have completed beginner fencing. Mondays 7:15-8:15pm at the Saskatoon Field House Or Fridays 7:00-8:00pm at the Saskatoon Field House Intermediate fencers are welcome to stay for electric fencing until 9:15 pm Cost: $150 for 8-week session Friday start date: January 6; Monday start date: January 9 We request fencers purchase a glove at this level and begin acquiring other equipment items of their own |
Open Fencing |
For children, youth, and adults who have progressed beyond beginner and intermediate levels Three training sessions per week: Mondays 7:15 -9:15 pm Saskatoon Field House Wednesdays 7-9 pm at Sutherland Hall Fridays 7-9 pm at the Saskatoon Field House $100/month per athlete, or $20 per drop-in Discount for University of Saskatchewan students: $75/month, or $15 drop-in We request fencers purchase a glove at this level and begin acquiring other equipment items of their own |
B-League Fencers |
Recreational electric fencing for experienced fencers Wednesdays 8pm Sutherland Hall beginning January 4, 2023 $10 per drop-in (no instruction is offered in this program) |
Wheelchair Fencing |
Wheelchair or seated fencing Fridays at 7-9 pm at the Field House Or Wednesdays at 2 pm at Sutherland Hall For youth and adults interested in wheelchair fencing for recreation or competition. Minimum age 7 years old. The wheelchair fencing competion categories include youth and adults who have had a spinal cord injury (quadriplegic and paraplegic), lower leg amputation or who have cerebral palsy or other physical disabilities or injuries that require the use of a wheelchair or mobility aid. Friday class runs concurrently with the Open Fencing class. Cost: $150 for 8-week session Starts: January 6, 2023 Club equipment is available for use for new fencers |
