 TEAM DETAILS

Entering our 4th season, the Phantoms look to build upon the success of our past 3 seasons. We are excited to announce some significant changes this year to our programs and our Executive Team. These changes will consist of scholarship opportunities, individual player development, team building and access to a sports psychologist. We at The Phantoms Organization believe the changes coming to the 2023/24 hockey season will help streamline the overall Academy experience and allow our coaches to focus at the team level. We are also expanding our extensive program offerings this year to include a U13 Girls Division and a U16 Team. Our program is designed to improve your ability on the ice and additionally, there will be a continued focus to develop character and strength off the ice.

PROGRAM DETAILS
80+ hours of scheduled team practices (September – March) 17+ hours on ice specifics skill development sessions - Shooting / Skating / Stick Handling (Conditioning Camp, On Ice Testing) 3 Skating/Shooting Assessments (Before/Mid/End of Season) Detailed Player Progress Report Cards, (Mid/End of Season) and Dryland sessions. Professional goalie coach, 6 PHL Showcase tournaments (24 games) 1 PHL League Championship weekend (4 games minimum) and Professional coaching.

In late August, we will have a conditioning camp, where players will gather as a team to work on skill development, power skating, conditioning, and team building. The season will then kick into full swing in September with scheduled practices, off-ice training sessions, skill-specific on-ice development sessions, exhibition games and ultimately attendance at PHL Showcase weekends and potentially travel to additional tournaments.

ICE TIMES AND LOCATIONS
The Phantoms Hockey Club will practice in the following locations but not limited to Calgary, Chestermere, Airdrie, Three Hills and Trochu. Please expect that there will be a minimum of 1-weekday practice along with multiple practices on the weekends. Weekend practices may consist of 2 practices in 1 day, on Saturday and or Sunday.

PAYMENTS
Program fees are scheudled to be $4,450 (plus taxes and credit card fees) for the 2023/24 season. All registration fees are to be paid directly to Phantoms Hockey Academy and cover over 140hrs of development, professional coaches, practice ice, skill-specific development ice, off-ice training, PHL showcase fees, mandated player apparel package and insurance.  Payment plans are available.

ADDITIONAL COST
The team can be responsible for additional tournaments that are outside of our Showcase Weekends along with associated coach expenses which include fuel, meals, hotel accommodation and flights. This can be accomplished by a one-time cash call of $300 per player, team fundraising or team sponsorship. It is understood that all cash calls and fundraising funds are solely the property of the Parent Group. Should there be remaining monies at the end of the season, the funds can be returned to the families as per the parent group’s final decision.

For clarity, Phantoms Hockey Academy is considering entering out-of-province tournaments. Therefore, the team would be responsible for the associated travelling cost for their respective coaches. Additional details will be provided later.
