July 5,2024 Update

The 3 games that were postponed due to rain on June 20/24 will be played on July 18, 2024, on our originally scheduled FunNight/Social Night week.

To still reflect a social theme, there will be food and snacks available for all registered players!

April 29, 2024 Update

Good Morning Lourl Ladies,

Our season opener is around the corner (May 16th) ,you all should have heard from your captains. If you have not, please reach out and we'll make sure you know your team :)

We will be holding an informal practice night on May 9th starting at 7pm. This will also double as a meet and greet, so dust off those cleats and gloves and come on out for some fun!!

February 2024 Update

We hope everyone is as excited as we are to start planning for the 2024 LOURL season.

2024 LOURL Registration is officially open!

Early bird registration fee is $150 if received by MARCH 1st

Registration fee after March 1st is $175

We are still awaiting confirmation of the permit dates, but Playoff Weekend Dates are penciled in for September 13-15

The Returning Player and New Player electronic registration forms are available from any executive or through contact us request on our website.

Both registration forms have drop down selections, so doing it online is easier, however, we do need a signed copy of the completed registration so please either sign/scan/email or drop off/mail to Lisa Winer .

Amendments to the Constitution

The LOURL Constitution may only be amended by a majority vote of members present at General Meetings. The amendment must be received by LOURL Executive, in writing, 2 weeks before the LOURL General Meeting. Amendments must be in form of a "resolution" and passed by a majority vote at the LOURL General Meeting.

All changes/suggestions/nominations must be received in WRITING by Wednesday, October 18th

All proposed changes will be sent out to all LOURL members prior to the AGM.

We encourage everyone to make best efforts to attend the AGM to ensure we have representation from the league.

September 11/23 Update

We've finished the regular season and it's time for Playoffs!!

Playoffs include a round robin component with the home team determined by a coin toss. Please take a few minutes to review the full set of rules on our website: LOURL : Powered by TeamLinkt

Due to umpire shortages, we will be playing all games at Carlton Park on Friday and Saturday, with Thursday's games at Centennial Park, our regular diamond.

Timing will be tight, so unfortunately we will need to cancel the Wine Survivor. Anyone already entered will be refunded, Lisa will manage the refunds.

We will be holding the 50/50 draw after the round robin on Saturday, you can purchase tickets up until Saturday morning from Jenn or Nancy.

In lieu of prizes, we have elected to provide each team with a donation to the charity of their choice. Below you can see the donation amounts based on your team's final placements.

Captains, please talk to your teams and advise Jenn Vandervelde (jvandervelde@rogers.com) which charity your team is playing for.

Sept 5/23 *LOURL Updates** Regular Season/Playoffs/End of Season Activities

Good Morning Ladies,

Hope everyone had a good long weekend and for those with kids off to school, hoping everything went smoothly :)

Lots of information about the remaining season, playoffs and end of season activities so please read :

REGULAR SEASON

Due to the number of rainouts and not enough time slots to fit them all in, there will only be ONE rainout game scheduled. This game is Expedia vs Reliance : Sept 7th 8:00pm - see the website for updated schedule.

This rainout puts every team at 14 games played.

PLAYOFFS

We will have the playoff schedule ready once the final regular season game is played.

All teams will play Thursday/Friday/Saturday, if there are rainouts, we have Sunday as contingency - please be available the whole weekend.

We will be taking team photos during playoffs

We will be doing the 50/50 Draw at the diamond Saturday after the final game . We have sold $570 in tickets, so the pot is currently sitting at $285 . Additional tickets will be sold that day. We have tracked previously purchased tickets, so not to worry if you've lost your tickets.

We are also holding our Wine Survivor, so there is still time to enter the draw! For those of you who have already entered at Social night, you're in!

YEAR END EVENT - Hold the Date

We are holding our year end event at Col Mustards Saturday, Oct 21st - more details to come.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) - Hold the Date

This year's AGM will be Wednesday, Nov 1st at the Vet Hall - please mark your calendars and plan to attend. This is your chance to have input into next season and have your voice heard.

We will send out more information after playoffs, but start thinking about rule changes and constitution changes you'd like to propose so you can submit those changes once we send out the forms in the next few weeks.

Elections for the 2024 Executive will be held at the AGM, any LOURL member can run for any of the 5 positions. We will send out the nomination forms in a more detailed email later this month.

May 5, 2023 Update

Hi LOURL Ladies,

The BIG day is almost here, we're counting down to our first game of the 2023 LOURL Season.

This year, we are back up to 6 teams from 4, which is great, but also comes with its challenges. While we have enough players to make up 6 teams, we did not have 6 primary pitchers register. As a result, 2 of the teams did not end up with a primary pitcher, only a back-up pitcher. We have made an executive decision to allow any team who does not have a primary pitcher, or whose primary pitcher will be away, to recruit a pitcher for their game. The recruited pitcher will not bat if the team has at least 10 of their own players.

SKILLS NIGHT - Thursday, May 11th 6-8pm at Centennial

We will be holding a pre-season Baseball Refresh, which will include baseball fundamentals and a pitching clinic. This is a great opportunity to meet your teammates and refresh your skills. We encourage everyone to come out and anyone who is willing to try pitching, or who registered as a back-up pitcher, to attend the pitching clinic that night. You will need a glove, cleats (recommended) and bat, if you have one.

Please note this is NOT a LOURL event. This event is held by volunteers not associated with the organization. Please do not wear any LOURL apparel to skills night.

ACTION ITEMS before we hit the field:

Ensure your SPN waiver has been signed online at least one day before arriving at the diamond. If your waiver has not been signed, you will NOT be allowed to play -- (www.slo-pitch.com)
Use the app/email your captain has communicated and let them know your availability for each game (TeamSnap, TeamLinkt, Whatsapp, email)
Bring a signed registration form if you haven't already provided (you will be contacted directly if this is missing)
Arrive at the diamond at least 15 minutes early

- WARM UP!!!!!!

January 19, 2023 Update

Hello LOURL ladies past, present and future! 2023 LOURL REGISTRATION HAS BEGUN!!!

Early registration by March 1 = $150

Registration will be done virtually, however, we are working to secure a location for a casual drop in sometime in February so stay tuned for more information!

We have had to increase registration to help cover the cost of increasing fees as well as only having 4 teams last year.
