Where Louisiana Plays.
Louisiana Flag Football is one of Louisiana’s leading youth flag football organizations. We serve boys and girls through structured youth flag football programs and also offer a cheerleading program for girls who want to participate in the game-day experience from the sideline.
Our goal is simple: create a league that families trust, kids enjoy, and communities are proud to support.
We focus on:
Organization
Communication
Player development
Sportsmanship
Safety
Family atmosphere
Community involvement
Every season is designed to help players build confidence, learn the game, compete with friends, and create memories that last beyond the final whistle.
Creating opportunity one memory at a time.
Louisiana Flag Football exists to create positive opportunities for kids through sports. We believe youth sports should build more than athletic ability. It should teach discipline, accountability, teamwork, confidence, and respect.
Flag football is a non-contact version of football where players wear flags attached to a belt. Instead of tackling, defenders stop the play by pulling the ball carrier’s flag.
This allows players to learn the fundamentals of football in a safer, fast-paced, and skill-focused environment.
Players develop skills such as:
Running
Passing
Catching
Route running
Flag pulling
Defense
Teamwork
Communication
Game strategy
Flag football is a great option for kids of all experience levels, whether they are brand new to football or already involved in other sports.
Louisiana Flag Football offers youth programs for multiple age groups and skill levels.
Typical flag football divisions include:
4U
6U
8U
10U
12U
Older youth divisions when offered
Age divisions may vary by season based on registration numbers, facility availability, and league structure.
Players are placed in divisions based on the official age cutoff date for that season.
Our co-ed flag football league is designed for players of all skill levels. The environment is fun, competitive, organized, and focused on development.
Players get the opportunity to learn football fundamentals, compete in weekly games, build friendships, and experience a complete youth sports season with team identity, uniforms, standings, recognition, and championship opportunities.
Louisiana Flag Football also offers a cheerleading program for girls who want to participate in the game-day atmosphere.
The cheer program gives participants the opportunity to build confidence, teamwork, rhythm, leadership, and school spirit while supporting players on the field.
Cheerleading program details may vary by season, but typically include:
Practices
Sideline cheer performances
Uniform package
Game-day involvement
Team-focused environment

Scheduled weekly games
Referees on the field
Coaches leading each team
Structured divisions
Clear communication
Safe, non-contact play

Championship-style season moments
A positive community atmosphere
Our goal is for every game day to feel organized, energetic, and easy for families to understand.
Practice schedules are handled by each team’s head coach after teams are formed.
Louisiana Flag Football does its best to place players with others from nearby home areas, schools, or surrounding communities when possible. This helps coaches schedule practices in locations that are more convenient for families.
Practice times, locations, and frequency may vary by team, coach, division, and season.
Louisiana Flag Football uses a structured team formation process to help create a fair and organized season.
Depending on the season, this may include player evaluations, coach draft procedures, geographic grouping, coach protections, and roster balancing.
The goal is to create teams that are as balanced and competitive as possible while keeping the process transparent and inclusive.
Every registered player is included unless otherwise stated for a specific program.
Louisiana Flag Football is a non-contact league.
Instead of tackling, players pull flags to stop the play. This creates a safer way for kids to learn football while still developing athletic skills, competitiveness, and game understanding.

Player safety

“Thank you for putting this league together and caring enough to ask for feedback.”
“All referees were great. They were polite, patient with the children, and never disrespectful.”
“We enjoyed the season and are looking forward to another one.”
Our goal is to keep improving the experience for players, parents, coaches, referees, and the community.
