We're Home

Let me tell you something about Mosswood Park.

This is where GS3 (formerly GSK) started. Back in 2014, before we had team names that would make your grandmother blush, before we had theme nights and nacho sponsorships and a bar that knows our drink orders — we had this field. This patch of grass in North Oakland. This is where a group of grown adults decided that kicking a red rubber ball around was a perfectly reasonable way to spend a Thursday night.

And it was. It still is.

But sometimes life sends you on a little detour. For a few seasons, we packed up and headed over to Bushrod Park while some things got sorted on our end. And look — Bushrod treated us right. The fields were solid, the neighborhood showed us love, and we made it work. Shout out to Bushrod for holding us down. You're a real one.

🙌 Shout Out to Bushrod Park

Thanks for hosting us while we were away. You kept the league alive and we won't forget it. GS3 family for real.

But here's the thing about home — you always find your way back.

"Mosswood isn't just where we play. It's where we became something."

And honestly? Coming back this spring, the place looks better than ever. The fields are in great shape — whoever's been maintaining them deserves a raise and a beer. The lines are crisp, the grass is green, and that North Oakland fog still rolls in right on cue every Thursday evening like it's part of the schedule.

But the real news? That new community center.

Yeah. Mosswood got an upgrade while we were gone, and it's a game-changer. Real bathrooms — not the kind that make you question your life choices. Space to hang out before and after games. It adds a whole new layer to the vibe we've been building for over a decade.

Picture this: you show up at 6:15, your team is warming up, music's playing from three different speakers (we'll get to the music etiquette later), and instead of pacing around a parking lot, you've got a proper spot to gather. Post-game, instead of everyone scattering, there's a natural place to congregate before we all head to Ben & Nick's. It's the infrastructure GS3 deserves.

Why Mosswood Matters

I'm not gonna get too sentimental on you, but there's something about this park that just hits different.

Mosswood is where our weirdest theme nights happened. Where someone kicked a ball into the street and we all had to pause while a Prius waited patiently. Where the fog got so thick one night that we played an entire inning by sound alone (ask me about it). Where proposals happened (yes, really), where friendships formed, where people who showed up as strangers left as family.

This isn't just a field. It's where the culture of GS3 was built. Where "grown adults playing kid games" stopped being a tagline and became an actual way of life.

And now we're back.

What to Expect This Season

Spring 2026 kicks off in March, and we're coming in hot. Here's what's waiting for you at Mosswood:

  • 12 teams of the most ridiculous, wonderful people in Oakland
  • Theme nights that get more creative every season (trust us on this one)
  • Thursday nights that will become the best part of your week
  • A championship tournament that somehow gets more competitive every year
  • A community center that actually makes the whole experience better
  • Ben & Nick's after every single game, because tradition is tradition

Registration is open right now. 240 spots. When they're gone, they're gone. And with the Mosswood energy back in full effect, these are gonna fill up fast.

See You at the Park

If you've played with us before — welcome home. You know what this is. You know why Thursdays matter. You know that the kickball is just the excuse.

If you're new — you're about to find out. Show up with an open mind and a willingness to look slightly ridiculous in costume. We'll take care of the rest.

Mosswood, we missed you. Thanks for having us back.

Let's kick this season off right.
