We’re back!! 

First and foremost, thank you again for helping make our inaugural 2025–2026 SCYBL season one of the most memorable youth basketball seasons our area has experienced. The competition, player development, community support, and excitement throughout the season — especially during the playoffs and Final Four — gave us an incredible foundation to build upon.

We’re excited to get the 2026–2027 season started, and this year we're beginning the process much earlier than we have in the past. That's how excited we are to get going!

We learned a tremendous amount in Year 1, and our goal is to use those lessons to make Year 2 more organized, efficient, collaborative, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

We also want to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to provide feedback following last season.

Whether you identified something that worked well and we should continue to build upon, or an area where you felt we could improve, we heard you and greatly appreciate the input.

We are committed to taking what we learned — both through our own experiences and through your feedback — and kicking things up a notch in Year 2!

We've already started working on improvements to our processes, communication, scheduling, league structure, technology, and overall experience. You'll hear much more about those enhancements in the weeks ahead.

But before we start rolling out all of the exciting updates, we need your help with one important first step!

Boys & Girls Contacts

Please confirm the information for both your Boys and Girls programs.

If your organizational structure has changed — for example, you previously had one Program Director overseeing both Boys & Girls, but now have separate Boys and Girls Directors — simply email me the new names and contact information, and I'll make the necessary changes.

Your quick attention to this is extremely important. Once we know we have the right people in the right seats, we can begin distributing all of the information and resources for the upcoming season.  Note, coaches contact information should be updated on the PD once the coaches are confirmed by team.  Please update in the same shared sheet.

One of our biggest objectives for Year 2 is to have our league information organized, finalized, and communicated well before the season begins.

Our goal is to provide Program Directors and coaches with a much more complete roadmap upfront, including:

• League Rules & Game Play
• Policies & Procedures
• Team Registration
• Conferences & Divisions
• Scheduling Process
• Communication Tools
• Coach & Program Director Resources
• Playoff Structure & Brackets
• Final Four & Championship Weekend
• And essentially everything you need for the season before we tip off!

Information will be communicated directly through email and housed on the SCYBL website, giving everyone a consistent source of information throughout the season.

 NEW: IN-PERSON PROGRAM DIRECTORS & COACHES MEETING

We're also excited to share that we are planning an in-person meeting during the first week of November for all SCYBL Program Directors and Coaches.

More information regarding the exact date, time, and location will be shared soon.

We believe this will be a great opportunity to get everyone together before the season begins to:

• Meet other Program Directors and coaches from across the league
• Review league structure, rules, and expectations
• Walk through important policies and processes
• Discuss what's new and changing for Year 2
• Review scheduling and game-day expectations
• Ask questions and openly discuss the league

Most importantly, we want to begin the season with everyone on the same page and working together.

One of our goals this year is to create an even more clear, collaborative, and connected league, and getting our Program Directors and coaches together in the same room before games begin is an important part of accomplishing that.

March 6 —  SCYBL Final Four Weekend Makeup / Snow Date

More information surrounding each milestone will be communicated well in advance.

 SCYBL CONTINUES TO GROW

We're also excited that we will likely welcome additional programs from outside our existing footprint this season.

Not only will this continue to strengthen the level of competition across SCYBL, but strategically adding programs around the edges of our footprint can help make some of our divisions more geographically balanced and travel-friendly.

There is a lot of great news coming — including new tools, improved processes, league enhancements, and exciting opportunities for our players and programs.

First things first, though: help us make sure we're communicating with the right people!
