Notes from NSBSSA GENERAL MEETING with Players - 8/12/26
1. RULE CHANGES
a. All teams will have to field 12 players for each game.
b. Pickups can come from team-assigned or sub list players of the same
rating or lower.
c. If teams cannot field 12 players, the first time a missing player would bat,
he/she will be an out.
d. Run-rule changes to 12 after 5 innings and 10 after six innings.
e. Ratings will no longer by numbers—5, 4, 3a, 3b—but by the line or pick
number—rounds 1-12.
f. If a round 12—last round player is not available—a round 11 player is
acceptable.
g. The intentional walk rule to line 1 players is rescinded.
h. If an illegal player is used—a player not on the same line or lower—it’s
up to the opposing manager to protest, before the end of the game.
i. Splits can play either night, but not both.
j. Players can request to play a certain position, but managers will decide
where to play him/her.
2. TIME LIMITS
a. Games will start at 7:00 and 8:15
b. Full lighting ends at 9:25 and will go to 50% until 9:35 and 10% until
9:40.That cuts us from 2;45 to 2:35.
c. We will use a time clock--set at 55 minutes. At that point, it will be
current inning, plus one.
d. Games may end in ties.
e. Players will warm up before the games—outside the fence—and be ready
to take the field at start time mentioned above.
f. Continue to not chase foul balls.
3. Substance Use
a. No drinking, smoking or drug usage in the entire complex, in accordance
with city law and policy
b. Refer to Disclaimer, must initial and sign.
4. Board Election
1) There are 3 board positions that will turn over in January 2027. All new prospective
candidates should notify a current board member of their interest ASAP. We will use paper
ballots for elections to the board. These ballots will be given to the managers to hand out to their
teams. We will have a ballot box in each of the dugouts.
Voting will take place mid-way through the fall 2026 season.
