The Vancouver Women’s Field Hockey Association is excited to launch the Season Social Media Contest for 2025–2026. The contest runs from December 6, 2025 to March 15, 2026 and celebrates the spirit, skill, and community of our league. Teams and players are invited to share their best moments from throughout the season for a chance to be featured and win prizes.

 

How to Enter

 

Participating is simple:

1. Post a photo or video on Instagram

2. Tag @vwfha_fieldhockey

3. Use #VWFHAContest2026

4. Ensure your account or post is public so we can view and reshare your content

 

There is no limit to the number of entries you can submit.

 

What You Can Submit

We welcome a wide variety of content, including:

• Game action photos

• Team celebrations

• Goalie highlights

• Bench energy and sideline moments

• Warm-up footage

• Behind-the-scenes content

• Game-day traditions

• Short-form video reels

• Any content that reflects the energy and values of VWFHA

 

Submissions should represent sportsmanship, inclusivity, teamwork, and passion for field hockey.

 

Contest Timeline

Launch Date: December 3, 2025

Contest announcement goes live on Instagram.

 

December 6 – December 15

Weekly reshares of selected entries to encourage participation.

Weekly story reminders.

 

Holiday Pause: December 16 – January 5 

Minimal posting. Submissions remain open, but no active promotion.

 

January 6 – February 1

Weekly reshares continue.

Increased reminders as teams return from the break.

Review of entries begins for the Mid-Season Award.

 

Mid-Season Winner Announced: January 20–22

February 2 – March 9

Final push for entries. Compilation of top entries for final judging.

 

March 10–13

Internal scoring and selection of winners. Preparation of announcement graphics.

 

March 14/15 – League Finals Weekend

Season Winner and Honourable Mentions announced.

Gift cards presented.

Winner photos taken for social media.

Post-season recap featuring the best entries published online.

 

Judging Criteria

Entries will be evaluated based on:

• Creativity

• Storytelling

• Visual quality

• Representation of team spirit

• Connection to league values

• Engagement (considered but not required)

 

Judging is conducted by the social media audience (more liked posts, reels), and the final decision will be made by VWFHA Communications Officer.

 

Prizes

• Mid-Season Winner (January): $50 gift card 

• Season Winner (March Finals Weekend): $100 gift card 

• Honourable Mentions: Featured online and on social media

Prizes will be awarded during League Finals Weekend.

Eligibility

• Open to all registered VWFHA players and teams

• Submissions must be posted on Instagram

• Content must be original

• By entering, participants allow VWFHA to repost or feature their content on league social media and website
