Yes! Please see additional comments regarding registration below.

  • Evaluations are mandatory for all U9 - U15 players. Evaluation fees are $75 per player and are in excess of the fees outlined in the table above. These fees are payable at the time of registration.
  • New this season - U9 registration fees outlined in the table above include the U9 extended season. There will not be an extended season fee payable later in the season this year.
  • When registering in Spordle, if you receive this message, “The address "YOUR ADDRESS" is different than what we have for this player. Would you like to notify the registrar of this address change?”, please select NO unless the address is incorrect.
  • If your child is trying out for a team outside of CIS (high school, AA/AAA regional teams), please indicate this in the comments field of their registration and select CHEQUE as method of payment. Please let CIS know before September 30th if your child will be playing with CIS or not.
  • Cash calendars - if you wish to pay for cash calendars upon registration, please select the option for your youngest child registered with CIS. See below for additional information regarding cash calendars.

Does CIS offer a payment plan?

Yes! In addition to full payment at time of registration, CIS also offers a 3-payment plan:

  1. 40% at time of registration
  2. 30% due October 31st
  3. 30% due November 30th

If you choose to pay via credit card, payments will automatically be charged to your card on the payment dates. If you don't have a credit card and want to sign up for the 3-payment plan, please contact clippersvicepresident@gmail.com.

What do registration fees cover?

  • Ice rental fees (practices and games)
  • Referee fees
  • Hockey Manitoba fees (includes insurance)
  • Eastman league team and individual fees
  • Use of game jerseys
  • Equipment (pucks, nets, cones, first aid kids, etc)
  • Player and goalie development
  • Coaching development

Other than registration fees, are there other fees and expenses throughout the season?

Yes. At the beginning of the season, teams will collect additional fees to pay for team specific expenses, such as tournament entry fees, team events, etc. In general, team fees range from $100-$300 per player depending on the age group. Team fees will be discussed with your team coach and manager  at the start of the season.

Does CIS do any fundraisers during the year?

Yes. CIS has two main fundraisers during the season.

  1. Cash Calendars - every family is required to sell 10 cash calendar raffle tickets at a cost of $20 each for a total of $200. This can be paid at the time of registration via the Hockey Canada website or at the start of the hockey season.
  1. Tournaments - CIS hosts tournaments for U9 - U18 age groups. Parents are expected to work a minimum of three volunteer shifts at their child’s respective tournament.

What is the refund policy?

CIS will provide refunds to members who do not wish to continue playing hockey. To be eligible for a refund, please contact CIS via email.

  • Prior to Sept 1, 2024 - full refund minus a $50 administration fee
  • Prior to Sept 30, 2024 – partial refund (registration fee less Eastman fee, Hockey Manitoba fee, Hockey Manitoba fee and $50 administration fee)
  • After Sept 30, 2024 – no refunds

The CIS Board have the discretion to accept and process late filed refund applications but reserve the right to apply additional fees.

When does the season begin and end?

Key dates for the 2024-2025 hockey season are outlined below:

  • Sept 7 - Sept 19: Conditioning skates (U9 - U18)
  • Sept 21 - Sept 29 - Evaluation skates (U9 - U15)
  • Last Week of Sept (date TBD) – Evaluation skate (U7 only)
  • First Week of October: Formation of teams for the season
  • Oct 7 - Mar 7: Regular season (U7 - U18)
  • Mar 8 - Mar 28: Extended season/playoff (U9 - U18)

What night/date/time/location will my child be playing?

This is a difficult question to answer before the season starts as we do not know what our registration numbers will be. We understand it makes it difficult to plan other activities for your child when you don't know their hockey schedule. Unfortunately, with numerous teams, there are a lot of moving parts and it takes time to finalize schedules. We will make every effort to get a schedule out as early as possible and we appreciate your patience!

What is the Respect in Sport Online Course?
Hockey Manitoba has implemented the mandatory online Respect in Sport Parent Program. For a child to be eligible to play on a sanctioned Hockey Manitoba team, this online course must be completed by at least one parent or legal guardian of any minor hockey player b
y November 1st. The RIS Parent Program is separate from the RIS Coach/Manager certification and therefore must be completed regardless of whether you have taken the RIS Coach certification in the past. The cost of this online program is $12 + GST and is not covered by CIS.

Respect in Sport link: https://www.hockeymanitoba.ca/members/respect-sport-parents/.
Please make sure to add all your children (who will be registering for hockey) to your RIS Parent Program profile.
