Warmup will take place 10 min before the game will start.
-
If you are not on a team scheduled to be playing you will be first to move teams for balance issues and first to be asked to head home if too many scheduled players arrive.
-
Any Concerns or complaints about the league can be voiced to league management.
-
Concerns about the town operation, ice surface, locker rooms, town staff, etc., that is not directly league related will be brought to league management to allow the league to maintain positive relationship with the town operators.
-
Jerseys will be provided. Upon registration you will receive your team jersey. It will be registered to you. If it is not returned at end of season you will be sent an invoice for $50 to replace the jersey.
-
If playing on your off night, please grab a jersey from league locker. The non-player issued jerseys will be washed once per month, unless you damage it. All borrowed jerseys must be returned to the locker after the game.
Health/Safety
-
Please self exclude if ill. We do not need flu outbreaks or the like going on.
-
Please be courteous of others mental and physical health. We do not need or condone fights in the league. If you find you are heated, take a break.
-
If struggling with mental health concerns, on or off the ice, please touch base league management for direction and support or connect with the Central Alberta Access Addiction and Mental Health Intake line at 1-888-594-0211.

If anyone is found making racist comments, gestures, etc., they will be investigated by league management. During investigation, the player in question will not be permitted to participate in league. Repercussions for racism may include expulsion from the league with no refund. If you are expelled from the league for racism, you will not be welcomed back in the league for future seasons.
-
AED’s are located in the hallways outside the dressing rooms.
-
We have first aid kits in the league locker. If you have a minor cut or the like, feel free to use when needed. Please let league management know if you use so we can ensure they are stocked with bandaids and such.
-
Verbal assault that is not part of the game will not be tolerated.
-
Body contact, ie: body checks, will be dealt with a 3 strike system.
-
Fist fights are an automatic suspension, no refund, and you are done for the season. Anything that happened on ice and moves off ice will involve full removal from the league and if need be RCMP involvement.
Game Play
-
5 on 5
-
Faceoffs on period start and after each goal. Period start any skater can drop puck, after goal, scoring team drops puck.
-
No phusical contact, no body checking.
-
Accidental/incidental contact may occur, game will pause as needed.
-
A player that loses a helmet or glove must immediately retrieve or leave the ice.
-
No spitting. There are policies for the town around spitting and can have some serious repercussions for all players.
Goals
-
Scoring team drops puck.
Offsides
-
Offsides will result in a change of possession. The team that was called for offside must exit the attacking zone (all players simultaneously in neutral zone) before re-entering and applying pressure.
-
Offsides are called on honour system and can be called by defending team. Do not abuse this.
Example:
Team A is called for offside and all players must exit their attacking zone.
Once all Team A players are simultaneously in the neutral zone they may re-enter their attacking zone.
Goaltender Freezes the Puck
-
When the goaltender freezes the puck, the attacking team must exit their attacking zone (all players simultaneously in neutral zone) before re-entering their attacking zone and applying pressure.
Example:
Team A goaltender freezes the puck.
Team B must exit their attacking zone.
Once all Team B players are simultaneously in the neutral zone they may re-enter their attacking zone.
Penalties
-
Be a gentleman. We do not want to bring in penalty shots.
-
If you take down a guy, turn over the puck and clear the zone.
-
Immediate game ejection for ALL intentional physical contact. 2nd offense – game ejection and written warning. 3rd offense – league suspension with no refund.
-
Any game misconduct will lead to automatic removal from the league with no refund
Examples:
Player A swings stick in aggression at Player B, connecting or not, removal from game.
Player A body checks player B, removal from game.
Player A intentionally starts a fight with Player B on or off ice, over game actions - league suspension without refund.
Rosters
-
We make every attemp to make the rosters as fair as possible. With new players joining each year, there will typically be adjustments made to maintain league competitiveness.
