TORONTO, ONTARIO – Football Toronto and NFL Canada are excited to announce a new groundbreaking partnership that will help enhance and grow high school football in Toronto. This first-of-its-kind collaboration in the city will bring essential funding to the annual Toronto Bowl series and will equip every Toronto high school football program with advanced film and video analytics tools.
"We’re thrilled to partner with Football Toronto to offer high school athletes the tools they need to improve their skills, while learning the game of football,” said David Thomson, Vice President and Managing Director, NFL Canada. “This partnership will have a positive and substantial impact on these student-athletes, while helping to foster the growth and development of our sport in Toronto."
Elevating the Toronto Bowl Series
Through this partnership, NFL Canada is a key sponsor of the annual Toronto Bowl series. Their investment will help to grow the visibility and prominence of high school football in Toronto and provide athletes a better gameday experience. This year, the Toronto Bowl hosted 300 student-athletes from across Toronto in three games: East v. West All Stars, Junior City Champions and Senior City Champions. Advancing High School Football with Innovative Technology
The partnership also provides cutting-edge film and video analytics tools for all Toronto high school football programs. With NFL Canada’s investment, Football Toronto has purchased new A.I. powered, operator-less, portable cameras that are used for every game throughout the season. With state-of-the-art video analytics tools and enhanced game analysis, coaches now have more resources to teach and develop their athletes, create new coaching strategies, and promote student-athletes to prospective recruiters. Over 20 high school football programs utilised the tool this season, helping over 3,000 student-athletes.
"Our partnership with NFL Canada is a game-changer for football in Toronto,” said George Gretes, Founder & Chair of Football Toronto. “It aligns perfectly with our mission to advocate, preserve, and grow the game by supporting our athletes, coaches, and referees."
This partnership is more than just a sports initiative, it's an investment in Toronto's youth and community. By supporting local high school football, NFL Canada and Football Toronto are nurturing future talent and reinforcing the sport's positive impact on young athletes.
