How Games are Assigned

The Hockey Weyburn Inc. Referees Division uses Arbiter Sports (an online system) to assign officials for ALL games for the Association.

Hockey Weyburn Inc. minor hockey games are generally assigned in the following manner:

All officials are to:

  1. Keep their “Block Days” (those days they are not available to officiate) current, a minimum of 1 month in advance
  2. “Action” (ie. Accept or Decline) all game assignments, on or before 2 days of receiving them.
  3. Immediately reach out to the game assignor when you can no longer work a game and you need to be taken off the game.
  4. Be at the rink a minimum of 30 minutes prior to puck drop.

These steps are CRUCIAL for the smooth/efficient administration of our officiating program.

Game assignors are to:

  1. Assign all games and game changes/substitutions.
  2. E-mail (&/or text if preferred) game assignments via Arbiter Sports.
  3. Notify officials of game changes and administer substitutions, via Arbiter Sports.
  4. Organize the best possible crews for each game and do so by matching games based on the skill sets of the available officials.
