ARTS
Starting this year we are now offering art classes. All art supplies will be provided for the art classes. We will always aim to provide good quality materials for all the classes.

Each month our class will look at one of the 7 elements of art as a basis for the learning experience. The art we create will incorporate the theme, but not necessarily be solely demonstrative of that theme. Students will use a variety of mediums and techniques in class such as watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, papercraft, pencil, charcoal, collage etc.

month 1: Line (Sept 26, Oct 3, Oct 10, Oct 17)

month 2: Shape (Oct 24, Oct 29, Nov 5, Nov 19)

month 3: Colour (Nov 28, Dec 5, Dec 12, Dec 19)

month 4: Value (Jan/Feb)

month 5: Texture (Feb/Mar)

month 6: Form (Mar/Apr)

month 7: Space (Apr/May)

month 8: Fun Project

SPORTS - schedule of sports can be found here https://leagues.teamlinkt.com/grass/Schedule

Our sports programs are designed to be basic programs that are open to participants of all ages (5-18, Grades 1-12), and all skills and abilities (beginner to expert). All sports we offer will aim to teach participants about the sport and rules of play, provide instructions and coaching on how to play, and allow the participants to play the sports through drills, fun games, free play, and competitive games. There will be a combination of  drills, fun games, free play, and competitive games.

Unless ages are specified (which doesn't happen often) we welcome all ages, 5 to 18+, Grades 1-12, for all sports/activities. For the sports, participants will be separated by age/skill for some activities, but also kept all together for other activities. For scrimmages they are always divided by age/skill.

We can never predict who will register for the activities, or what ages they will be. The average age is about 10 years old. Half our participants are 11 and older, half are 10 and younger. Some activities may be on the older side, while others may be on you younger side.

The main goals are to enhance physical literacy, provide physical activity, teach new skills, provide opportunities to learn and try new activities, provide opportunities to socialize with others, and have fun.

Most equipment is provided for the participants to play the sports. For most sports you just need good running shoes and to dress appropriately for the activity. Equipment, attire, and footwear requirements will always be minimal, and often based on these questions; What would they wear if they went to play with their friends? Are there serious safety concerns that should require more equipment?

For Hockey and skating, participants must provide their own equipment. Hockey equipment required includes skates, helmet with face protector, gloves, stick, neck guard. More is recommended but not required. Skating Lessons requires skates, helmets, and any type of gloves or mittens. Some locations will require a CSA helmet.

There is a membership fee of $10 per participant. This fee will be included in your first registration.

You may pay for your registration by credit card at the end of registartion process, or you may select to "Pay with Cheque, Transfer, etc." to pay by e-transfer. E-transfer payments can be sent to grass.ab.ca@gmail.com.

Payment must be sent within 24 hours of registering, or 2 weeks before the events is scheduled to start. Payments not sent 2 weeks prior to the activity, or not sent prior to a waitlist starting, will be cancelled or placed on the waitlist.
