About

Family Friendly Soccer was started in 2000, by Hans and Rita Vandenbrink, as an alternative to the busy, community soccer schedule.

It is intended to be a more relaxed, family-oriented league, where the whole family can go to a single location for soccer, accommodating kids of all ages. Since its inception, Family Friendly has grown from 75 to about 300+ kids, spread across 4 age groups to allow for the recreation and enjoyment of all involved.

We are a non-profit organization. Along with Hans, the league was administered by Randy Vankooten.  In 2008, administration for the league shifted to a new group, involving Sonya Hassan (president),Trish Vandermeer( treasurer), Gloria Hagens, Michele Flim and Michelle Drost.  Randy stayed on as an advisor, coach, scheduler and webmaster until retiring and passing the torch in 2012.  2014 the diectors changed and continued on with Trish Vandermeer, Karen Vandermeer, Pat Groot and Shanna Stolte.  2020 saw many changes and we started with registration but had to cancel the season due to Covid-19.  With this, many parents decided on not getting the refund and as a group, a donation was made to the Mustard Seed in the amount of $5,372.00.

Finally, we count on the dedication of coaches, referees, all those working to make this happen and the commitments of families to make the league work.
