Our approach
We believe in building fundamentals first. Physically and mentally, wrestlling is one of the most difficult sports in the world. It takes time and dedication to master the techniques needed to compete at a high level. We have an established process to develop young athletes into skilled wrestlers. We aren't going to teach every move and technique in the book, we focus on the ones with high success rates and of foundational importance to growth. We lean on the side of perfectionism rather than teaching things just to go win a youth match.
what to expect
Whether they are die hard wrestlers or just staying active, all of our wrestlers will leave our program as better overall athletes. We challenge our athletes mentally and physically and help them learn how move and control their bodies beyond what they thought possible.
A typical practice looks something like this:
Dynamic Warm-up
Tumbling, Balance, Body Control Work
Agility and Posture Drilling
Technique Instruction
Live Wrestling
Competitive Games
What we offer
ONE MONTH CAMPS
Held in September and June, our one month camps are for wrestlers of all skill levels. We focus on the basics and foundational techniques in these camps. These camps are split into two sessions, beginner and experienced.
Our beginner session is designed for athletes who are new to wrestling or still getting a feel for it. We move at a slower pace and design each practice to build on the previous one. Live wrestling consists of shorter spurts that focus on scrambling, wrestling from specific positions and fun body control games.
Our experienced session is designed for kids who want to master the fundamental skills. We focus on the small technical details that give good wrestlers an edge over the ones that just know a bunch of moves. Mastering the skills in our experienced sessions will also setup our wrestlers who are looking to join our competitive team.
COMPETITIVE team
Our Competitive Team runs from October through February. This is an exclusive team comprised of wrestlers looking to continue to master their technique and compete against other clubs. Instruction evolves into a comprehensive system of wrestling. Wrestlers learn technique for every position on the mat and on their feet. We put our skills to the test by competing in local, state and national level competitions.
Private lessons
Looking to improve a specific skill set? Maybe your wrestler needs a little extra work to get over a hurdle. Private and partner sessions can be tailored to meet your unique needs and goals. We offer private lessons throughout the year, by request, on a case-by-case basis.
