Please remember that ALL COACHES and ANY ADULTS working with USA SOFTBALL TEAMS must clear our USA SOFTBALL BACKGROUND CHECK and BE CURRENT WITH THE SAFESPORT CERTIFICATION before you can be on the field for practice or games. This must be done each August for the upcoming season. 

Any adult on the field or in the dugout assisting with one of our teams must complete a background check and a SafeSport Course per USA Softball guidelines.

1. You may obtain an ACE certification or a regular background check.
2. You must complete one SafeSport Course (either the main course or a refresher).

ACE Coaching Program
As the National Governing Body of Softball, it is USA Softball's responsibility to ensure that our coaches achieve a certain level of understanding of what their duties as a coach of a youth softball team.

The ACE (Aspire, Challenge, Encourage) Coaching Program is a coaching education program, developed and designed to provide softball coaches of all levels an opportunity to be educated as a coach with a national softball organization.
The cost for ACE Education is $29.00 for Level 1; $28.00 for all other levels.

Regular Background Check
The cost for a background check ranges between $10.00 and $14.00.

SafeSport Course
The U.S. Center for SafeSport seeks to create a healthy, supportive environment for all participants.  Through education, resources, and training, the Center helps members of the sport community recognize, reduce and respond to misconduct in sport.

• Create (or log into) an account.
• Submit for your background check.
• Once your background check comes back cleared, please send a screenshot of that to your head coach.
• Complete a SafeSport Course (if you have never taken it, you will take the main course.  If you have taken the main course, you will complete a refresher course).
• You will receive a completion certificate at the end; send a screenshot of that to your head coach.
