On behalf of the tournament organizing committee, welcome to our annual CROWCHILD CHALLENGE TOURNAMENT! The Crowchild Challenge first took place in 1983!  In it’s past, it has run as a joint U13AA and U11-1 tournament. We are excited to continue the tradition, this year inviting 16 U11 AA teams to Calgary, for our 41st time as a tournament!  

We hope that all players, coaches and their families have a fun filled and safe four days of hockey. Our detailed tournament package will be made available to registered teams.

Teams will be placed into one of 4 divisions for round robin play (three 75-min games), and then all teams are guaranteed a 4th semi-final game. Winners of semi-finals will proceed to medal finals on Sunday!

All teams will have scoring through the round robin play, meaning after 3 games, teams will be ranked 1-4 in their respective division. After completion of round robin, the four 1^st place teams will proceed to Playoff Pool A, the four 2nd place teams will proceed to Pool B, the four 3rd place teams will proceed to Pool C, and the four 4th place teams will proceed to Pool D.

Winners of the semi-final games in each Pool will then compete in a medals final in their respective playoff pool.

All Hockey Calgary Rules, Regulations and Minimum Suspension Policies are in full effect. Failure to follow tournament rules and/or format may result in the forfeiture of games or expulsion from the tournament. All Participants must abide by the Hockey Canada Fair Play Code. Tournament Committee reserves the right to adjust the format of tournament and games.
