Are the mens and womens age groups separated this year?

Yes, they will be separated this year, although this may be dependent on athlete numbers. The beginner camp will be all inclusive and athletes will not be separated.

What if my child is non-binary or transgender?

They can sign up for whichever gender division they feel most comfortable in.

How do I determine what age group to sign my child up for?

Their age group will be based on the upcoming season (e.g. if your athlete will be playing 16U in the 2025-26 season, that is the age group they should be signed up for). Please see below a cheat sheet for ages based on SaskVolleyball's anticipated 2025-2026 club guide:

Age Division Birthdate
13 & Under Sept 1, 2012 – Dec 31, 2013 and later
14 & Under Sept 1, 2011 – Dec 31, 2012 and later
15 & Under Sept 1, 2010 – Dec 31, 2011 and later
16 & Under Sept 1, 2009 – Dec 31, 2010 and later
17 & Under Sept 1, 2008 – Dec 31, 2009 and later
18 & Under Sept 1, 2007 – Dec 31, 2008 and later

Can my athlete sign up for an age group that they are not apart of?

Absolutely - however, please keep in mind that skill level will differ between each age group. For example if your athlete will be joining the 16U division in the 2025-26 season but they have only played 1 or 2 years of volleyball, it may be more beneficial for them to join the 15U division. Each camp will be tailored for skill levels based on playing in Division 1 or the top of Division 2  in any given age group. It is important to remember that if you want your athlete to get the most out of each camp, they should try to join the camp that will be most beneficial for them and won't leave them behind!
