Coach Valerie Van Kirk-LeVier is our leader & overseer, and has one one of the most impressive resumes as a player and coach in all of fastpitch softball history.
High School: (1980-1984) Workman High School: 4x all league selection; 2x all CIF selection; 1983 CIF champions.
Travel Softball: (1983-1985) 2x ASA 18u National Champion (CALIFORNIA RAIDERS-Phil Bruder); Jr. Olympic USA Team Bronze Medalist.
Division 1 Softball: Cal State Fullerton (1985-1988); 4 year starter; 1986 National Champions; 4x All Conference Selection; Top 10 in career games played, recently fell below top 10 in career steals.
Professional Softball: (1988) Parma, Italy- Italian National Champions (Sinco Parma); Batting Title (.410 Avg.); 1987 Pan American team trials; 1989 Womens ASA National Championship; 1991 Pan American team trials; 1996 U.S. Olympic trials, 5X ASA All-American, 5X participant and medalist in US Olympic Festival.
Coaching: Coach Val has been owner, overseer, trainer, and a coach for California Thunder for over 19 years. And over 100 of her athletes have played softball at colleges of all levels around the country. This includes her daughter, Lacy LeVier who received a full D1 scholarship to Univ of Toledo and her son, Corey Levier who also received a D1 scholarship at the University of San Diego.
