Matt has been immersed in hockey for as long as he can remember, growing up on the ice and building a lifelong passion for the game. During his minor hockey years with the Clarington Toros, he not only honed his skills but also developed a strong compete level and a deep respect for the sport.
Although Matt began coaching after his minor hockey career, he continues to play recreational hockey, maintaining a hands-on connection to the game he loves. Over the years, he has achieved his Development 1 Coaching Certification and has coached every age group from Tyke to Midget (U7 through U18), gaining valuable experience at both recreational and representative levels. For Matt, there’s nothing more rewarding than sharing his love for hockey and helping young players grow their passion for the game.
Through the Brock Bandits program, Matt gives players the opportunity to keep their skates on the ice a little longer, providing an extra season to develop their skills and enjoy the sport. To Matt, hockey is more than just a game—it’s a way to learn discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, values that build success both on and off the ice.
