AIYBL Division Information
 

Rookie League

AIYBL Rookie League is a great way to get your young ball player a solid starting foundation in the game of baseball.  AIYBL Rookie League is for kids ages 4 to 6 and is a developmental program designed to teach young ball players the great game of baseball. Baseball skills and fundamentals are stressed throughout the season. These skills include defensive positions, base running, batting stance, fielding stance, sportsmanship, teamwork, game strategies, cooperation and much more.  The Rookie League starts out the season with 2-3 baseball clinics designed to help your young ball player get started.  A combination of coach pitch and “T-ball” gives your child the confidence to enjoy playing and learning the game of baseball. The season is comprised then of 4-6 games, following the clinics, and played on Saturday mornings starting in late April.

 

AA Division (8U)

The AA Division is the next step in your child’s development as a baseball player.  The AA Division is for kids ages 6-8 and continues to build upon the basic baseball fundamentals learned in Rookie League.  This is a competitive coach pitch league where real baseball rules are learned and stressed.  The AA Division practices one day a week. The season is comprised of 12-16 games played in the evenings during the week and Sunday afternoons. Playoffs will be held for the top four teams from the regular season and a champion will be crowned. Six year olds can register and play in both Rookie League and the AA Division at no additional cost. We highly encourage you to play both.

 

AAA Division (10U)

The AAA Division is for kids ages 8-10 and builds upon your child’s baseball development from the AA Division.  Key concepts and strategies, such as, pitching, catching, stealing, base running, bunting, and double plays are introduced at this level. The AAA Division is a competitive “kid-Pitch” league where more-advanced baseball rules/strategies are learned and stressed. Pitch counts are used in accordance with little league rules to help protect the young ball players from injury.  The AAA Division practices one day a week. The season is comprised of 12-16 games played in the evenings during the week and Sunday afternoons. Playoffs will be held for the top four teams from the regular season and a champion will be crowned. Eight year olds can register and play in both AA Division and the AAA Division at no additional cost. We highly encourage you to play both.

 

Major League

The Major League Division is for kids ages 9-12 and builds upon your child’s baseball development from all divisions at AIYBL.  The Major League Division is real Little League baseball played in accordance with Little League rules.  The Major League Division is a competitive “Kid-Pitch” league where advanced baseball rules/strategies are learned and stressed. Pitch counts are used in accordance with little league rules to help protect the young ball players from injury.  The Major League Division practices one day a week. The season is comprised of 22-26 games played in the evenings during the week and Saturday afternoons. Playoffs will be held for the top four teams from the regular season and a champion will be crowned. Nine and Ten year olds are eligible to register for the Major League Draft. Nine and ten year olds can play in both the AAA Division and be drafted for the Major League Division (only 10 year olds and up must be drafted) at no additional cost.  We highly encourage you to play both.
