The Saskatoon Christian Women's Volleyball League (SCWVL) started as a group of women playing volleyball in local church gyms. Today, the league is often referred to as the 'Thursday league'. 

The SCWVL is managed by a volunteer Executive consisting of a President, Treasurer, Referee Coordinator and Scheduler/Statistician. Executive positions are two-year terms filled by volunteers elected at the AGM.

 

Location: Henk Ruys Soccer Centre, Mark Tennant Field

Day of Play: Thursday evenings

Time: Regular season matches consist of 4 sets in a 1.5 hour time slot

Season: Early to mid-September to end of March or early April

Rosters: All players must be on a team roster and insured through SaskVolleyball prior to playing. Deadline to add players to a team roster is February 1st.

Permits: Teams may permit a player in the same division (pool) or lower

  • A teams can use a player from any team
  • B teams can permit a B team player or a C team player, but they cannot permit an A team player
  • C teams can only permit C team players

Officiating: Referees oversee matches but no minor officials are used. Teams are responsible to keep score.

Tournament: All teams included in the year end tournament. Only rostered players may participate. Teams are placed into pools based on their standing the second last Thursday of the regular season.
