Saint Agatha Athletics Coaching Requirements

Thank you for offering to be a volunteer coach! Please see the requirements below and email stagathawildcats@gmail.com with questions.

1. Attend VIRTUS ($25 fee to create an account through Fastrax for BCI monitoring)
   • Register at virtusonline.org.
   • Click the "First-time registrant" button on the left-hand side to create an account, or log in with your user ID and password if you previously created an account.
   • Select "Columbus, OH (Diocese)" in the drop-down menu. 
   • *NOTE: Assistant coaches who are 16 & 17 years old are not required to complete VIRTUS
2. Obtain a background check (BCI). ($40) Recommend using Fast Fingerprints.
    
3. All reports must be sent directly from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation to:
   Safe Environment Program - Diocese of Columbus 197 E. Gay St. Columbus OH 43215
4.  Service Codes: For parish or Catholic School volunteers who have been legal residents of Ohio for more than 5 consecutive years, you will need to complete state level background check through the BCI, use code: ORC 2151.86

 For parish or Catholic School volunteers who have been legal residents of Ohio for less than 5 consecutive years, you will need to complete both a state level background check through the BCI and a national level background check through the FBI, use code: ORC 2151.86

3. Complete the Concussion Awareness Course (15 min)
   • This must be renewed every three years. View the NFHS Concussion Awareness Course for more information on the program. 
4. Complete Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) training (15 min)
   • This must be viewed every year. View the SCAT video now and download the information sheet.
