2025 PHOENIX VOLLEYBALL CLUB TRYOUT INFO
You only need to register for one tryout.
Each registration is good for one tryout session and spaces are limited per session.
All waitlisted registrants will receive an email if a spot opens. Whomever registers/pays first will get the spot and the others will be placed back on the waitlist.
If you would like to be considered for a higher age class let them know when you check-in.

What to expect when you arrive at tryouts
When you arrive you will first need to remove your shoes on the carpet and then find your way down the hall to the tables where someone will help you check-in. The check-in is to make sure you are registered to tryout and to make sure that we have all your information and your parents information correct. This is also the time to let us know if you would like to be considered for another eligible age class which you can find in the chart above.
Then we'll give you a numbered pinnie to wear or write some numbers on your leg with a washable marker and then send you further down to have your picture taken. The pinnies/numbers and pictures are then matched to your tryout information which the evaluators/coaches will use and help remember who you are.
After your picture is taken you will be directed into the gym where there will be volleyballs for you to warm up with and await further instruction from the lead tryout instructor.
Our tryouts are actually a lot like a volleyball camp with drills and some game play stuff but with a lot more reps and without any of our awesome one-on-one help or Coach Chris's awesome music playlist.
Tryouts are scheduled for 2 hrs and usually do take that long but may take less time if there are fewer players attending your session.
We do have a 30 minute check-in window beforehand but we also know you might be running late because you might be rushing from one club tryout to another while trying to get some calorie/hydration intake as well.
If this is your first ever tryout, you will probably feel anxious and somewhat nervous and it's ok to feel like that. Try to stay calm and don't worry about messing up and making mistakes. If you're having a really bad day and not performing as well as you know you can, let the lead instructor know. We look at the effort you give and what you can do now along with the potential of what you will be able to do with the proper training.
