Coaching Opportunities

If you're an experienced coach or just starting out, we want you to join us in building a successful coaching team for years to come.

We are looking for instructors and coaches with a fun, outgoing, energetic personality able to work with youth of various ages. Candidates may instruct/coach within various volleyball programs including camps, academy, leagues, or with our competitive club teams.

Our goal for all coaches is to become confident and successful in their role through ongoing support, mentorship, and guidance as needed.

We are currently seeking coaches/instructors for the following positions:

HEAD COACHES - Phoenix Volleyball Club 13U & 17U Girls
Those interested in a head coach position with Phoenix Volleyball Club should be at least 18 years old with prior coaching and playing experience.

Head coaches are responsible to bring provided equipment (volleyballs, cart, etc) to and from practices/games and therefore require appropriate transportation to various locations. Practices are held at least 3 weeknights between 6-10pm with 6 to 8 local/regional tournaments on weekends at various dates/times.  As head coach, you must have the ability and means for possible travel to regional tournaments in Selkirk, Brandon, Portage La Prairie, Virden, Regina, Flin Flon, or Thunder Bay. Transportation is provided to head coaches of 14U and older age class teams that attend the Volleyball Canada Nationals tournaments which normally take place in either Edmonton, Calgary, or Richmond. Older age teams may also travel to the U.S.

Compensation for Head Coaches is provided as follows:
Honorarium - amount is based on experience and the age class of team; provided in 2 or 3 equal payments.
Hotel - accommodation expense to attend tournament events that require extended travel and overnight stay.
Travel - a per/km allowance is provided for travel to attend tournament events outside Winnipeg.
Food - a meal allowance for meals that are not provided by the event host while attending tournament events that require extended travel.
Merchandise - coach apparel including practice shirts, sweat pants, hoodie/crew neck and/or track suit.
Education - reimbursement of club approved course and workshop fees for coaching certifications and upgrading.

ASSISTANT COACHES - Phoenix Volleyball Club 13U - 18U Girls
Those interested in an Assistant Coach position with Phoenix Volleyball Club should be at least 16 years of age with playing experience.
You would be expected to attend at least 2 practices/week and as many local tournaments as possible while assisting the Head Coach. The Head Coach will act as mentor and provide guidance and instruction with the ultimate goal for your successful transition into a Head Coach position. Assistant coaches are not expected to attend regional or national tournaments when travel is required.

Compensation for Asst. Coaches is provided as follows:
Base honorarium - amount is based on age class/experience and is provided in 2 or 3 equal payments.
Hotel - accommodation expense to attend tournament events that require extended travel and overnight stay.
Food - a meal allowance for meals that are not provided by the event host while attending tournament events that require extended travel.

Education - reimbursement of club approved course and workshop fees for coaching certifications and upgrading.

LEAD INSTRUCTOR - Phoenix Volleyball League 12U-14U Girls
Our League program is tentatively scheduled to start in January 2026.


The Lead Instructor must be at least 18 year of age and is responsible for planning and instructing age appropriate drills to 4 teams with volunteer parent bench coaches.

All staff, coaches, and volunteers over 18 years of age working directly with youth or acting as a ‘Person In Authority’ must complete certain mandatory background checks and may be required to  complete certain workshops/certifications as specified by Volleyball Manitoba and Volleyball Canada. These are all very simple to complete but we provide any help you might need to complete them.
