North Bay Minor Girls Softball Select Program

The North Bay Minor Girls Softball Select Program is a member of the Ontario Select Softball Tournament Association (OSSTA).

Teams are known as “The North Bay Blaze.”

Select teams participate in weekend tournaments organized through OSSTA across the province.

The program offers players additional practice, training, and skills development beyond the House League level.

The goal of the Select program is to establish competitive teams for tournament play across the province; therefore, equal playing time and specific positional opportunities are not guaranteed.

Player Eligibility:

Tryouts are open to all players within the House League Divisions.

2026 Select Divisions:

- U11: Players born in 2015-2017

- U13: Players born in 2013-2014

Practice and Training

During the House League season, practices will be scheduled to avoid conflicts with games and other house league activities.

Practice sessions will be scheduled by coaches, who should contact Dennis at northbayblaze@hotmail.com to arrange field times and cage bookings.

Games and Player Eligibility

Players must participate in at least two (2) OSSTA sanctioned tournaments to qualify for the Provincial Championship in August.

Players are expected to prioritize participation in the Select program during the summer, and availability for tournaments and practices may influence team selection.

Typically, fees range from $350 to $500 per player and do not include winter or spring training sessions.

As representatives of NBMGSA, all players, parents/guardians, and coaches are expected to uphold the organization’s reputation during tournaments and events.

All participants must sign a Player/Parent Code of Conduct and are accountable for their behavior.
