2025 YCB MINORS RULES
- EH is optional.
- There will be a 5 run per inning max. No team shall score more than 5 runs in any inning.
- The slaughter rule is when a team is unable to tie the score by assuming they will score 5 runs in each at bat they have left
- There will be a 2 hour time limit on all regular season games
- There will be a playing rule of 2 innings in the field and 1 turn at bat in a completed game. If the player does not get to play in the game, they must start in the next game.
- A team may start a game with only 8 players but they must finish with only 8.
NO WALK RULE: The purpose of this rule is to eliminate the “Walkfest” and to reduce game times. The rules are as follows:
1. Player pitcher will pitch to the batter until ball 4 is reached, Batter strikes out, or the ball is put into play.
2. On ball 4, it is a live ball situation. Runners can steal bases until the umpire calls time for the coach to take the field. The catcher should throw the ball to the pitcher, not the coach.
3. If ball 4 is reached before the ball is put in play or before the 3rd strike, the coach of the offensive team will take the mound and finish the number of strikes to the batter ie; batter had 2 strikes when ball 4 was reached, the coach will throw one pitch. Batter had 1 strike, the coach will throw 2 pitches.
4. 3rd strike from the coach must be a strike (as determined by the umpire). This is 3rd strike only.
5. The batter will either put the ball in play or strike out. If the batter fouls the ball on 3rd strike, the batter will receive another pitch.
6. A batter hit by a pitch will still be awarded 1st base. Exception: batter will not be awarded 1st base if hit by coach pitcher.
7. The coach pitcher must pitch from the pitching rubber, the player pitcher must stand behind the coach, to either side (no more than 3 feet from the edge of the mound).
8. Stealing bases and bunting will be prohibited while the coach is pitching.
9. If a batted ball hits the coach, the call is dead ball, batter takes first base and other runners will advance (if a force) 1 base.
