WETASKIWIN MIXED SLO-PITCH LEAGUE

Basic Guidelines and Information

1. The home Team for Game 1 is responsible for setting up the diamond bags and providing a home plate.

2. Teams are supplied with twelve 12" Hot Dot balls. The HOME team is responsible for bringing balls for the game.

3. Games will be held on Mondays through Fridays. The main diamonds are 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the Manluk Recreation Grounds. Centennial School and Angus Ridge may be used, depending on scheduling needs. Teams will be given directions to these diamonds if needed.

4. The City will provide Port-A-Potties with hand sanitizer at the recreation grounds.

5. If a team knows it cannot attend a scheduled game, it must give at least 72 hours' notice to its opponents and the league organizers. The team that cancels is responsible for rescheduling with the other team based on the diamond availability provided to them by the League organizers. The cancelling team will forfeit the games if a rescheduled date cannot be agreed upon. If a scheduled game is cancelled due to poor weather and cannot be rescheduled, then the games will result in a split.

6. The diamonds will NOT be groomed if it is raining (or snowing) heavily during the day on your night of play. The City reserves the right to close the diamonds with notification to the league before 4 PM that day.

7. Both teams are responsible for emailing the scores to the League Organizers at slopitchwetaskiwin@gmail.com by the end of the day on Saturday of the playing week. Please indicate the date of the games played, who played, who won and who lost. Failure to report the scores in this format by the Saturday of the playing week will result in a split being awarded for those games.

8. If a ball is inadvertently hit onto the property of the homeowners on 52nd Avenue, please retrieve your ball without incident. Should an incident arise between the property owner and ball players, please inform the league organizers.

9. No alcoholic beverages are to be consumed during play or on the diamonds. Save the drinking for after the games, and please drink responsibly. If any member of your team chooses to drink and a fine is imposed by by-law on the league, the fine will be assigned to the team that created the offence.

10.  All players and teams are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the respect of others, fair play and sportsmanship. Abuse of verbal, physical or otherwise Wetaskiwin Mixed Slo-Pitch players or patrons will not be tolerated. After a League investigation of the incident that may or may not require meetings or interviews with all involved parties, the following disciplinary actions for persons or teams found in violation of this mandate may include:

a. Game suspension(s) of Player or team.

b. Player or team expulsion from the league.

c. No compensation is given to persons or teams suspended or expelled from league play.

11. Teams must park at the Manluk Centre or Civic Centre parking lot to access the diamonds, including Al Arner Diamond #4 (the new diamond). Parking is not permitted in the residential area or school field by Diamond #4. Also, DO NOT PARK on the east side of the pool—that is a city-restricted parking lot!

12. Any complaint shall be made in writing and submitted to the league via email with a $50 fee transferred. Failure to submit this fee will result in your complaint going unanswered.
