K-2 Division; Girls 6-8 Division = 6v6

3-4 Division; 5-6 Division; 7-8 Division = 7v7


  1. Qty 2 Twenty Minute Halves (Running Clock) Only time a timeout can stop the clock
  2. Halftime is 5 mins
  3. Each team has 2 timeouts per half. Each are 30 seconds timeouts
  4. 45 second play clock for K2 --- 30 second play clock for the rest of the Divisions. (Play clock starts when the ball is set and official give the ready sign)
  5. There is NO blocking or contact whatsover
  6. The offense has 4 plays to get a first down. First Down is at mid-field. Then 4 plays to score a touchdown. The start is at the 10 yard line.
  7. K-2 Division can have 1 coach in the huddle on offense and defense
  8. 3-4 Division - can have 1 coach in the huddle on offense and defense. The coach must stand clearly stand out of the way at the snap of the ball as to not appear as a player in the QB’s vision.
  9. 5-6 Division - can have 1 coach in the huddle on offense and no coach for defense.
  10. 7-8 Division – Can not have a coach on the field
  11. Girls 5-6 Division - can have 1 coach in the huddle on offense and defense. The coach must stand clearly our of the way at the snap of the ball as to not appear as a player in the QB’s vision.
  12. Girls 7-8 - can have 1 coach in the huddle on offense and no coach for defense.
  13. Every player is eligible to receive the ball either from a pass or hand off
  14. Offense has unlimited runs
  15. 1 player can go/be in motion on offense at the snap of the ball
  16. If the quarterback clearly hands the ball off to a runner, the defense can cross the line of scrimmage to pull the flag.
  17. The Quarterback cannot run unless he/she is blitzed. If blitzed, the QB can run.
  18. The Quarterback clock continues to run during a muffed snap by the center/qb
  19. Qb clock will always start on the snap. On a 4 second count as stated in the meeting you will hear 1, 2, 3 and then whistle (similar to basketball count along with the signal ) 
  20. Quarterback throwing time:
    1.  K-2 & 3rd/4th Division is 6 seconds
    2. 5-6 Division is 5 seconds
    3. 7-8 Division is 4 seconds
    4. Girls 5-8 Division is 5 seconds
  21. K-2;3-4 – snap to the side – 5-6;7-8 snap between the legs 
  22. Girls can snap on side.
  23. K-2 will not be allowed to blitz
  24. 3rd -8th defense can blitz on all plays. The blitzer must be 10 yard from the line of scrimmage. That distance will be marked by the referee.
  25. The Rusher can not cross the line of scrimmage with his/her hands up. He/She will be penalized with a roughing the passing even if no contact is made.
  26. Blitzer can only go for the flag.
  27. Player is allowed to spin when running with the ball.
  28. Player is only allowed to jump to catch the ball but not to avoid the flag being pulled while running.
  29. If a flag falls off, the ball is dead where the flag lands. The player can can continue to run the play, however, the ball will be called back to where the flag is dropped.
  30. If a player is tripped or tackled when running, a penalty is assed and automatic first down.
  31. A player cannot leave his/her feet (Superman style) to pull a flag. They must have at least a foot down when reaching for the flag.
  32. A team can punt on the 4th down and the ball would restart on the 10-yard line.
  33. If the flag falls off in the end zone, its considered a touchdown.
  34. The ball is spotted where the flag is pulled not the ball.
  35. Extra points – You can pass or run
    1. Going for 1 point starts at the 5-yard line
    2.  Going for 2 point starts at the 10-yard line
  36. Mercy Rule:

When a team is up by 26 points or more, the winning team has 2 tries to get a first down and 2 tries to score a touchdown.

The opposing team still has 4 tries at both until the opposing team brings the score within 26 points. Then the down opportunities goes back to normal.

  1. For the first 2 week of the season, team must play down to 6v6 if the opponent only has 6 players. If the team has 5 players, the opponent only has to has play down to 6 players. Any team 4 or less will forfeit the gam but is still encouraged to play.
  2. Penalties: Normal CIF football rules apply 
  3. Please leave the fields clean and pick up after your game.
  4.  Football size during the game:  Teams will use the size that is appropriate for their grade division. If a team chooses to use a different size football, both coaches must agree prior to the start of the game. 
  5. The league will not tolerate any profanity, fighting or anything that is deemed inappropriate or detrimental to the children or the league either from coaches or parents.  A penalty of this action will either lead to a suspension or banned from the league with the discretion of the commissioner.  Anyone that is involved in a violation can request a review for appeal.
