2024 Fall Rules and Regulations
K-2 Division; Girls 6-8 Division = 6v6
3-4 Division; 5-6 Division; 7-8 Division = 7v7
- THERE ARE 2 TWENTY MINUTE HALVES
- HALFTIME IS 5 MINUTES
- EACH TEAM HAS 2 TIMEOUTS PER HALF. THEY ARE 30 SECOND TIMEOUTS.
- FIELD DIMENSIONS: 65 YARD LENGTH, 35 YARD WIDTH.
- THERE IS NO BLOCKING OR CONTACT WHATSOVER
- THE OFFENSE HAS 4 PLAYS TO GET A FIRST DOWN. FIRST DOWN IS AT MID-FIELD. THEN 4 PLAYS TO SCORE A TOUCHDOWN. THE START IS THE 10 YARD LINE
- K-2 DIVISION CAN HAVE 1 COACH IN THE HUDDLE ON OFFENSE AND DEFENSE
- 3/4 DIVISION - CAN HAVE 1 COACH IN THE HUDDLE ON OFFENSE AND DEFENSE. ON DEFENSE, THE COACH MUST STAND CLEARLY OUT OF THE WAY AT THE SNAP OF THE BALL AS TO NOT APPEAR AS A PLAYER IN THE QB’S VISION.
- 5/6 - CAN HAVE 1 COACH IN THE HUDDLE ON OFFENSE AND NO COACH FOR DEFENSE
- 7/8 DIVISIONS – CAN NOT HAVE A COACH ON THE FIELD
- EVERY PLAYER IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE BALL EITHER FROM A PASS OR HAND OFF
- OFFENSE HAS UNLIMITED RUNS
- 1 PLAYER CAN GO/BE IN MOTION ON OFFENSE AT THE SNAP OF THE BALL
- IF THE QUARTERBACK CLEARLY HANDS THE BALL OFF TO A RUNNER, THE DEFENSE CAN CROSS THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE TO PULL THE FLAG.
- THE QUARTERBACK CANNOT RUN UNLESS HE/SHE IS BLITZED. IF BLITZED, THE QB CAN RUN.
- ON A SNAP FROM CENTER, THE BALL IS STILL LIVE. THE QB CAN PICK UP THE BALL AND CONTINUE THE PLAY.
- QUARTERBACK THROWING TIME: K-2 AND 3RD/4TH GRADE DIVISION IS SIX SECONDS, 5TH/6TH GRADE DIVISION IS FIVE SECONDS, 7TH/8TH GRADE DIVISION IS 4 SECONDS, Girls 6-8 Division is 5 seconds
- K-2 WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BLITZ
- 3rd -8th DEFENSE CAN BLITZ ON ALL PLAYS. THE BLITZER MUST BE 10 YARDS FROM LINE OF SCRIMMAGE. THAT DISTANCE WILL BE MARKED BY THE REFEREE.
- BLITZING WITH CONTACT- IF THIS OCCURS THE BLITZER WILL BE CHARGED WITH ROUGHING THE PASSER WITH A 15 YARD PENALTY AND AN AUTOMATIC FIRST DOWN.
- BLITZER CAN ONLY GO FOR THE FLAG
- PLAYER IS ALLOWED TO SPIN WHEN RUNNING WITH THE BALL.
- PLAYER IS ONLY ALLOWED TO JUMP TO CATCH THE BALL BUT NOT TO AVOID YOUR FLAG BEING PULLED WHEN RUNNING
- IF A FLAG FALLS OFF, THE BALL IS DEAD WHERE THE FLAG LANDS. THE PLAYER CAN CONTINUE TO RUN THE PLAY HOWEVER, THE BALL WILL BE CALLED BACK TO WHERE THE FLAG WAS DROPPED.
- If a player is tripped or tackled when running, a penalty is assed and automatic first down.
- A team can punt on the 4th down and the ball would restart on the 10-yard line.
- IF THE FLAG FALLS OFF IN THE END ZONE ITS CONSIDER A TOUCHDOWN.
- THE BALL IS SPOTTED WHERE THE FLAG IS PULLED NOT THE BALL
- EXTRA POINTS - YOU CAN PASS OR RUN
- GOING FOR 1 POINT STARTS AT THE 5 YARD LINE.
- GOING FOR 2 POINTS STARTS AT THE 10 YARD LINE.
- MERCY RULE:
WHEN A TEAM GOES UP BY 26 POINTS OR MORE, THE WINNING TEAM HAS 2 TRIES TO GET A FIRST DOWN AND 2 TRIES TO SCORE A TOUCHDOWN.
THE OPPOSING TEAM STILL HAS 4 TRIES AT BOTH UNTIL THE OPPOSING TEAM BRINGS THE SCORE TO WITHIN 26 POINTS. THEN THE DOWN OPPORTUNITES GOES BACK TO NORMAL.
- FOR THE FIRST 2 WEEKS OF THE SEASON, TEAM MUST PLAY DOWN TO 6V6 IF THE OPPENENT ONLY HAS 6 PLAYERS. IF THE TEAM HAS 5 PLAYERS THE OPPONENT ONLY HAS TO PLAY DOWN TO 6 PLAYERS. ANY TEAM 4 OR LESS WILL FORFIET THE GAME BUT IS ENCOURAGE TO PLAY
- PENALTIES: NORMAL CIF FOOTBALL RULES APPLY.
- PLEASE LEAVE THE FIELD CLEAN AND PICK UP AFTER YOUR GAME
- Football size during the game: Teams will use the size that is appropriate for their grade division. If a team chooses to use a different size football, both coaches must agree prior to the start of the game.
- The league will not tolerate any profanity, fighting or anything that is deemed inappropriate or detrimental to the children or the league either from coaches or parents. A penalty of this action will either lead to a suspension or banned from the league with the discretion of the commissioner. Anyone that is involved in a violation can request a review for appeal.
