VICTOR ESPINOSA

As an entrepreneur Victor has built a few businesses in various industries, but currently is a partner with a company called FORA established in 2013.  Fora is a group purchasing organization that works with specialty pharmacies / home care companies that support patients with hemophilia.  By pooling the member’s purchase volume (currently over $300 million) FORA is able to negotiate with pharmaceutical manufacturer and distributor’s to obtain a better acquisition price for its member’s medication purchases.

Victor’s baseball background as a player started when he graduated from South Young High School in 1978 in Knoxville, TN.  Victor was recruited by Motlow State Bucks in Tennessee as a short stop and played two years for Jackie Reavis where we compiled a 67 wins and 19 loss record.   Victor’s family had moved back to California and he decided to move back home.  In 1981 he walked on as MIF and made the Cal State Fullerton Titan team.  He redshirted his first year and played for Augie Garrido and Dave Snow in 1982-1983 going to the CWS in 1982.  Victor’s baseball playing career ended in 1984 after trying to play professionally.

Victor’s baseball coaching background started in 1989 when the Athletic Director at a small Christian high school, La Sierra Academy (LSA), asked him to start a baseball program.  He coached at LSA for the next 5 years making the CIF playoffs the final three years.  LSA still has a baseball team to this day.  As his family grew, Victor left LSA and started coaching his boys in youth baseball.  In 2003, he started the West Coast Yankees, a fall program for Jeff Stout, head coach at Yucaipa High School.  He ran and coached the Yankees until 2012.  During this time Victor also managed a summer travel ball team for Ed Sifuentes of the So Cal Bombers organization.  In 2012, Victor combined his travel team with Charlie Reynoso’s team and became the Chino Reds.  In 2013, Victor and Charlie decided to start a collegiate baseball team called the Inland Valley Pirates.  Victor was an assistant coach for the Pirates until the 2015 collegiate summer season.   Victor’s primary focus over the years has been on promoting his players to help them play collegiately and professionally.  Something he enjoys most is seeing players he has coached succeed at the next level.

Victor Espinosa has been married for 29 years to Cathy and has three boys Alex, Grady and Greg.  “We are a baseball family and enjoyed watching the boys play and coaching them through Little League, travel ball, high school and collegiately. “

As Sunset Baseball League President, Victor is excited to bring all his personal, professional and baseball experience to help promote and build a first class So Cal collegiate summer baseball league.
