SRSA Mission, Rules, and Guidelines
Mission Statement
SRSA believes soccer is a valuable outlet for children of all ages.
We are dedicated to keeping children active and providing a safe opportunity to build self-esteem, character, and leadership skills through the learning and playing of soccer.
As a recreational league, our rules are created to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all children participating in our program.
Code of Conduct
Spectators
- No alcoholic beverages, vaping, or tobacco products allowed on or near the playing area.
- Sit at least 3 feet back from the field of play, on the opposite side from players’ benches.
- Do not run alongside the field or yell over a coach.
- Maintain good sportsmanship at all times.
- Offensive, insulting, or abusive language will not be tolerated.
- If unable to follow these guidelines, spectators may be asked to remain quiet or leave the premises.
- The SRSA Board may review or intervene in any incident.
Coaches
- Responsible for the conduct of both players and parents.
- Address offensive or abusive language immediately; report repeat offenses to the SRSA Board.
- Never insult, demean, or put down a player.
- Shake hands with opposing coaches and referees before and after each game.
- Model good sportsmanship at all times.
- Stay in the technical area (about 3 yards from your team bench) during games.
- Make space for referees on sidelines and follow proper substitution protocol.
- Maintain regular communication with team parents and attend all coaches’ meetings.
Referees
- Must be treated with respect.
- Any concerns should be taken to the Referee Manager after the game.
- All referee calls are final and cannot be reversed.
- Education and improvement are ongoing for all roles.
Yellow & Red Card Policy:
- 2 yellow cards in one game = red card.
- 1 red card or 2 yellows = player removal from the field and premises. The player will not be allowed watch from the sidelines.
- The team cannot substitute for the removed player.
- Any player given a red card is also suspended for the following game.
Uniform & Safety Policy
- No jewelry during play.
- Cleats from baseball/softball must have the front toe cleat removed.
- No metal cleats allowed.
- Clothing with offensive language is prohibited on SRSA fields.
- Game socks must be worn over shin guards.
