Why DO We Invest In Year-round Lacrosse?

The South Carroll Youth Lacrosse Program has grown exponentially over the years. The need for an organized program with commitment to our young athletes was heard and the program has answered. As we have improved the SCYL program, feedback from the community regarding higher-level play was also heard. We understand that there are a plethora of options when it comes to "CLUB" lacrosse and we wanted to make that a reality within the SCYL organization.

We would like to introduce you to SCYL Select; a club-style travel team whose existence is based on the continuation of the SCYL Rec. season. We understand the need for year-long lacrosse however we also understand the importance of keeping the kids together to foster teamwork and community relationships. We truly hope that SCYL Select will meet the needs of our SCYL families.

Through communication with families, we have developed a program that will provide lacrosse year-round with a focus on local play. Practices will be local (Krimgold Park) and indoor facilities will also be within Carroll County. Our tournaments will be around the Greater Baltimore area, allowing more time for Lacrosse and less driving!
