1. All games are 22 minutes running time halves
2. Last 2 minutes stop time each half (unless a team is up by 20 points, then running clock)
3. Half time is 3 minutes, overtime is 2 minutes, 2nd overtime is sudden death/ first to score
4. Players foul out when they commit their fifth foul in a game. Technical fouls count as personal
fouls for this purpose and also count as team fouls.
5. Timeouts – two 30 second timeouts per half, 1 timeout in overtime
6. At 7 team fouls in a half, shoot 1 and 1, and at 10 team fouls in a half, shoot 2 free throws
7. For grades 3-4, only man-to-man defense is permitted (no zone defense). Also, for grades 3-4, players may move to the bottom of the circle to shoot free throws.
8. For grades 3-4, pressing is only permitted in the final 2 minutes of each half, and no pressing if the team is ahead by 15 points. For grades 5-6, no pressing if the team is ahead by 15 points.
For grades 7-8, no pressing if the team is ahead by 20 points.
9. Grades 3-4 will use 27.5 basketball. Girls grades 5-6 and 7-8 will use 28.5 basketball. Boys grades 5-6 will use 28.5 basketball (unless both coaches agree to 29.5). Boys grades 7-8 will use 29.5 basketball.
10. If a team is ahead by 30 or more points at any point in the second half, then no additional points will be recorded on the official scoreboard for the leading team. Referees may choose to consult with coaches before implementing this rule, ensuring mutual understanding and sportsmanship.
11. First team listed on Schedule is home team.
12. Each team needs to provide 1 volunteer to run the scoreboard/ clock and do the score-book.
13. Injured players must exit the game. While a player is injured on the floor, all other players must go to the bench. If a player is bleeding, they must leave the game immediately and cannot return until the bleeding has stopped & the open wound is covered.
14. Head coaches are responsible for their conduct and the conduct of their players, assistant coaches, and their team’s parents and fans. Time and score keepers must be impartial and they should not be coaching or making negative comments. All spectators must view the game on the opposite side of the court from players, coaches, and score table volunteers.
15. Profanity by players or coaches results in automatic ejection and an individual technical foul. Two technical fouls result in ejection. Any player or coach ejected must sit out next game.
16. Please pick up any trash, water bottles, etc. after your game.
Note: There will be no tolerance for poor sportsmanship in the bleachers or on your bench directed towards the officials, players, or anyone else. Anyone asked to leave the gym by an official or the Site Director is prohibited from re-entering the gym if there is an additional game that day. Coaches are responsible for the conduct of both players and parents.
