Welcome to the start of the 2026-2027 hockey season!

Here is how the next few weeks of the evaluation process will play out.

The U13 AA tryouts start Sept. 14th-21st. The U13 AA draft will be Sept. 21st.

The U13 A hybrid (Redwings/Flyers) evaluations start with skill evaluations on Sunday, Sept. 20th. There will be 5 ice times between 12:00pm and 7:00pm. A separate email with your players' evaluation time will be sent out later next week.

Any players that try out for U13 AA and do not make the weekend are to attend the skill evaluation skates.

Players that try out for U13 AA and make the weekend but don’t get picked in the U13 AA draft will return to our zone on Sept. 22nd. We rank these players at the top as they were the last released from AA hockey. If necessary, there will be a bubble skate on Sept. 23rd.

Once we have all evaluation information, we make 6 even teams to scrimmage. Scrimmages are on Sept. 25th, 26th, and 27th.

For both the skating evaluation and scrimmages we have independent evaluators watching. After each team has played one game, we may pull out players that ranked very high. This is to allow that mid-level player the opportunity to get more puck touches. The number of players that we pull may vary from year to year.

The U13 A hybrid draft will be Sept. 29th.

The B/C scrimmages will be Sept. 30th, Oct. 2nd, and if necessary, Oct. 3rd. If your athlete does not want to try out for hybrid A, please have them come to the skills evaluation and let us know at the check in that they wish to proceed to the B/C skates only.

The goalie evaluations are Sept. 20th, and the same concept is used for the goalies as for the players.

Throughout this process, the coordinators will be talking to parents that have applied to coach. This is moving quickly as we want to have coaches in place so we can do the draft as quickly as possible after the final scrimmage game and the evaluator’s data is entered.

If you have any intention of coaching or helping on the bench/ice at all this season, you must register to coach on the website.

Dates and times could change if required and will be communicated.

Lastly, throughout the tryout we will be asking for help both on ice and on the bench. Please step up and help make this process as easy as we can on these athletes.

Let me know if you have an questions.

  • Dates and times are subject to change (if required). Any updates will be communicated promptly via email.

We look forward to a great season ahead
