Spirit of Sacball
Seattle Adult Casual Baseball (Sacball) is a casual sandlot baseball league for adults (18+) with a competitive spirit and a love of baseball. We do not keep stats, dictate playing time, set positions, or keep rosters. Every week, team captains form two teams from all the registered players that attend.

Registration
How do I register?
Registration for 2027 will start in later Winter/early Spring 2027.
How old do I have to be?
18+ as of May 1, 2027.
I can't make every game. Can I still register?
Yes! But you should be able to attend at least 50% of the scheduled games.
How many games do you play?
In 2026, we played 17 games- 16 games on Wednesday night and one bonus game Sunday afternoon.

Rules
Sacball utilizes the standard MLB ruleset with the following adjustments:
- Pitchers throw to their own batters.
- No bunting.
- No stealing or advancing on wild pitches.
- No walks. Only swinging strikes are counted. Three swinging strikes is an out.
- Baserunners may take a reasonable leadoff (2 or 3 steps).
- Pinch runners are allowed for any reason.
- Teams may only score 5 runs per inning except for the final inning, in which scoring is unlimited.

I have never played baseball. Can I still join?
Yes, absolutely! Sacball is a casual league for all skill levels. Most players in the league have some experience playing baseball or softball, but even beginners can be successful with some determination and practice.
I played softball, can I hang?
Yes! The ball is a little smaller and the field is a little bigger, but the hitting and the fielding are the same.
What makes it casual?
The casual part is that we pitch to our own teammates. That keeps the game moving quickly and allows for a player of any skill level to be successful as a hitter.
What is the pitching like?
Since you pitch to your own teammates, the pitching adjusts to the batter's skill level.
How are positions on the field picked?
Players pick their own positions and rotate around the field.
What equipment do I need?
Each player needs closed toe athletic shoes (cleats are OK), a glove, a wood bat, and a batting helmet.
Which team will I be on?
Teams are picked before each game schoolyard draft style. Every week we form new teams and get a new chance to play with all the other players.
